Jason alighted from the plane wearing a three piece suit. His dark green eyes quickly scan the airport looking for his friend. Although he can easily order his men to meet him, his friend, on learning that he was coming has insisted on picking him up. He quickly make his way to his friend and hug him briefly once he reached him. It appears as if Nat is still the same jolly boy he used to be during their school days. During those days Nat and Jason always stick together along with Laurel. The three of them were inseperable even after Jason and Laurel started developing a special bond between them. They always did everything together as much as possible. Those were the happy and carefree days. Days they can never get back.
As the car eased out onto traffic Nat looked at Jason and shake his head. "You really are a big man now, aren't you," he chuckled.
Jason pretend to scold at him. "Oh, shut up. I'm always a bigger man than you, you wimp," he sneer.
Nat quickly hit him on his rib and growl. "Who are you calling a wimp, you sissy," he threw back quickly.
Before Jason could retaliate they reach their destination.
Nat lead Jason to one of the oldest building in the city. It is situated in the eastern side of the city which is the most popular part of the business centre. Although the building do look old Jason could visualise how it would look once the designers finished it.
Nat excitedly lead his friend inside the building, all the while pointing to the different decors in the walls and celing.
"What do you think?" he asked.
"Well, as you have already made up your mind there's not much point in my opinion, don't you think," countered Jason. "However, i may have to congratulate you on your choice. This building will do nicely for the new Whiton enterprise office. I'm glad you could buy it."
They walk around the building inspecting each room and discuss the different deals they have to settle before the fall.
"So, about the restoration, have you contacted any firm?" Jason inquire.
"Yes. I've talk with an acquaintance of mine from way back. He said he will talk it over with his boss. I even told them a figure already."
"Good. You really are a fast worker you know. If i had known that you are this keen i would have contacted you ages ago," laughed Jason.
Laurel quickly finish her lunch as she still have to meet two other clients. Today sure is not her day she thought as she climb into her car. She can hardly keep her mind in her work as other thoughts keep intruding her mind. Interior designing is and have always been her passion. That is one of the reason that made her decide to pursue this work plus there are hardly any competition in this part of the continent which means she have as many clients as she can handle. Maybe it is time to expand her team given the growing need of the job. Maybe once this pile of work load is done she will take a long vocation with her kids. Maybe visit her childhood home with them. It seems as if she really needed a break from all this pressure.
That's something definitely worth thinking about.
When she arrive at the Samuel residence, Mrs Samuel warmly welcome her.
"Hello. Come in, come in. I thought you will be arriving later."
Laurel smile at her sweetly. "Well i do have to go elsewhere but since you are nearer i decided to come here first."
"Would you like a glass of something," gesture Mrs.Samuel.
"No, thank you. I just had lunch."
After the pleasantries Mrs.Samuel took her inside and they discuss the things she wanted. Laurel deligently took notes and after debating at length Mrs.Samuel finally manage to pick out the different fabrics to be used.
Laurel started putting her things away and turned to her client. "I think we have covered all the important points, so i'll be moving along," she said softly.
"Of course. So when will your workers be coming."
"I'll ask them to start from tomorrow if it is convenient for you."
"That would be great. I want to finish the renovation before my husband returns with his parents," smirk Mrs.Samuel.
Laurel smiled. "Don't worry. By the time they come home everything will be spike and span."
Mrs.Samuel wildly gesture her arms. "I hope so. My husband's parents are so used to living in a very well maintained house that i don't want them to look down on my husband because of our home decor."
Laurel gently tap Mrs.Samuel's shoulder and whisper, "Don't you worry, Mrs.Samuel. I won't let you down."
After saying goodbye Laurel went to Mr.Wilkin's estate to discuss the renovation of the estate's main building. Just by looking at the size of it Laurel knew that it will need every man power under her disposal to complete the renovation. She had learned from Mr.Wilkin that the estate was an inheritance from his granparents. He wants to bring back the glory of his ancestral home it seems.
Well, this is going to be one hell of a job and who is she to refuse the man if he is willing to pay a small fortune for it.
When she reach the estate Mr.Wilkin was out in the patio. When he saw her he slowly came out and give her a welcoming beam. "Ah, my lady. Such a refreshing sight," he drawled.
Laurel laugh heartily.
"Thank you, kind sir," she replied glibly.
Mr.Wilkin was a very confirmed bachelor it seems from what she had gathered. He was a well build man with a tall figure to go with. Laurel was sure that he won't ever be deprive of female company. Besides his excellent physique he also have a charismatic nature.
He slowly led Laurel to the interior of the estate and point out the different parts of the building which needed her attention. After touring the estate for a reasonable length they sat down in what appears to be a den and discussed the different things that will be needed for renovating the place.
After having a drink with him Laurel look at her phone and got up.
"I'll be seeing you soon,Mr.Wilkin," she said softly and started walking towards the main door.
"My dear, why don't you just call me Henry as i'm sure we will be spending a lot of time together and i would not like to be a Mr.Wilkin all the time," he suggested quickly, opening the door for her.
Laurel looked at him closely and arch her brows. She then held out her hand and said, "Laurel at your service."
Henry quickly grasp her hand and pat it absentmindedly. "My dear, i hope we have the opportunity to know each other better. Don't be a stranger," he chuckled.
Laurel quickly remove her hand from his grasp and look at him sincerely. "I'm sure we can work together, Mr.Wilkin ...er...ehhemm.. Henry," she said quickly. "I'll have to hurry now since its almost time to put my kids to bed," she added laced with meaning.
To be frank, Laurel have no intention of being over friendly with any male species of the world right at this moment or in the near future. She already had her fair share of hurt and now she is no longer alone but have to think of her triplets as well. So, bonding with any one, especially with the likes of Henry Wilkin is out of the question.
