I must admit that I was terrified to leave the hospital. If the doctors insisted on bed rest, they had their reasons. They were the medical experts who knew why I needed it. I hesitated, but Scott reminded me of the importance of leaving. Sara would bother me again, and Stefan would take me to his house.
Scott led me down the hallway, but I asked him to stop in Derek's room. I couldn't go anywhere without seeing Derek first. My heart ached. I felt guilty as if I were abandoning Derek.
