Lacey I had to tug at Serene multiple times before I could convince her to push Fin away, hoping that when his touch left, maybe the numbness I was desperately trying to hold onto would return. Once we finally stepped back out of his reach, I felt the magic swirl inside of me—not completely returning, but clearly more comfortable. His eyes scanned my face searchingly.
