I awoke when the sun was already high in the sky. I quickly pulled on jeans and my black zip-up hoodie, slipped on my shoes, and rushed to the hospital.
When I arrived, I found two warriors on duty. They had both graduated last year, in the same class as Fin. I took a nervous breath. I had been hoping the warriors on duty would be ones I was friends with.
I walked up to them. “Hey guys, the king was talking about rescheduling the pack run for today since we missed it Friday.”
That part was true—I’d overheard some of the omegas talking about it in the hallway.
