Lacey
The darkness swirled inside of me, surging under my skin like it was trying to break through. I used all of my strength trying to push it back down, bury it deeper, as dark clouds gathered in the sky and the willow continued to grab at the man and let him go immediately after connecting.
“You see? This isn’t stable. She is a danger to this pack. We cannot let her lead.”
I watched as some heads nodded in agreement while others argued that I was the chosen, obviously meant to lead. All the words jumbled in my mind, the power still building inside of me. Just when I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to hold it in any longer, Fin stepped forward.
His eyes, filled with a mix of heat and anger, connected with mine, filling my body with strength that I was missing just a second ago.
