Lacey I watched Margo cover her ears as I felt the blood trickle from my nose. “Fight it, Lacey. DON’T let it take over. You have the strength. It’s in us.” Serene encouraged. I felt her tugging at the darkness, trying to pull it away. I took a breath, cutting the scream off as I tried to push it away. I felt my body stalking forward toward Margo as I tried to anchor myself to my spot and make it stop. Fin grabbed my hand, making me whip my head toward him. I tried to fight the darkness as it seemed to lunge for him, but I was fighting a losing battle as my hand seemed to heat and Fin began convulsing. I pushed through the haze, ripping my hand away. I tried to escape, but as I got close to Margo, a powder blew into my face, smelling floral yet strange—something I did not recognize. M
