Lacey My mother’s wolf was a bit small, but she was fast—very fast. The head start she had gotten, combined with the fact that I was not used to moving in wolf form, made it hard to keep up. I ran harder, trying to get right behind her, when she suddenly stopped, making me crash right into her. We went tumbling over each other, and I heard her laugh lightly through the mind link. Something still felt off, lingering like a shadow at the edge of my thoughts, but I pushed it aside. Calm down, silly wolf. Look, she said, sitting down on a patch of moss. I made my way to her and sat beside her, looking out. We were on a cliff, looking down at one of the prettiest places I had ever seen. There was a waterfall flowing from above us into a small lake, with beautiful flowers and vines growing
