“This is more of a curse than a blessing” Valen muttered under his breath. Being mated to your enemy and, worst of all, the very kind you detest was so much to bear. He paced his study restlessly, the weight of it pressing down on him. How could fate be so cruel? To be cursed with a bond like this—it was unthinkable. The sharp sound of his door creaking open interrupted his thoughts. Valen glanced over to see his best friend Lucian staggering in, obviously drunk.
