I was still unconscious even though I could feel the pain coursing through my body. I felt as if everything was on fire, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t even open my eyes. My body didn’t seem to want to listen to me even though I knew I needed to wake up and leave. It was odd, I was sure I would be dead by now. Perhaps this is what it felt to die, I didn’t know and for now I didn’t care. The only thing I wanted was for the pain to go away, it felt like it had been days since I had passed out after that vampire had bitten me. I didn’t know if my friend knew where I was or if I was okay. Knowing Vicky she would be worried sick about me for sure. I hate making people worry about but what could I do at this point, heck I didn’t even know if I was dying or not.
As far as I know I haven’t moved from my spot, though I can’t be too sure as I only just started to have my senses back a few hours ago. At least I think it’s been a few hours, I can’t be sure since I haven’t been able to move or open my eyes. The only thing I feel is this immense pain all over that I would rather it go away.
After what felt like an hour or two I was finally able to open my eyes, the pain had almost completely gone and soon enough I was able to move, with my eyes open now I could see that I was in a completely different place then last night. I was laying down in a red couch in an otherwise empty living space, the walls were completely white, no pictures or decorations were to be seen, regardless the place still looked nice especially because of the last window that was right behind me. I could tell I was in a semi abandoned area because the outside look dull and unmaintained. The buildings looked like they hadn’t been lived on for many years as they all had mold all over.
“Shit.... I don’t even know where I am....” I said to myself, my voice echoing through the empty building. ‘Did I get kidnapped.... there no way...’ I thought as I looked around to find my phone right next to me. I picked it up and unlocked to to see if I had any new messages, of course there was no signal and the only messages that had come through were from Vicky wondering where I was. She had sent them around 2am last night, I then looked at the time, it was 5:30 pm, s**t I’ve been gone for most of the day! As I realized this I shot up and was met with an overwhelming sense of dizziness and I had to let myself fall back into the couch.
“You can’t go anywhere in your condition.” I heard a voice from afar entering the room, I turned to my right to face the person who had just come in. She was a gorgeous female, one could say she was totally one of those top models you see in super popular magazines. She had really curly red hair that went just below her shoulders, her skin was super pale and her eyes were a beautiful dark blue, they looked like the clear blue skies. She was smiley and had a good body for sure, I gotta admit I was gawking like a male I’m heat, I was rendered speechless by her.
“Hey, girl, did you hear me?” The female asked me in confusion as she tilted her head slightly to the side and giving me a questioning look.
“Oh!!” Finally registering her words I compose myself and finally ask her “what do you mean I can’t go anywhere in my condition? I don’t feel sick, the only thing that happened was I got dizzy, maybe from the lack of blood...” I reassured her as I went to stand up.
“The lack of blood is one of the reasons why I am saying that you can’t go anywhere. On the other hand if you leave now you’ll end up hurting someone if you don’t drink blood first.” She explained calmly as she finally made her way over to where I was now standing, though I gotta admit I was taken aback by her last statement. “What do you mean drink blood? Don’t you mean blood transfusion?” I corrected her as I went to sit down seen as she had already s]decided this was going to take long to explain since she had already sat down at the corner of the couch.
“No, it’s exactly what I mean. You need to drink blood in order for your thirsty to subside. Of course you should be fee;in it right about now.” She explained just as my throat started to hurt, it felt dry and it was becoming very uncomfortable very quickly.
“If I need to drink blood, that would mean I’m a vampire... but vampire don’t exist!” I defended myself as I angrily stood up. There are no such things as vampires, what happened last night was just a stupid guy who had gotten too much to drink, nothing more! “What happened last night is nothing more then a stupidity who got drunk and just wanted to beat up anyone!!”
“Believe what you want but it is what it is... you’re a vampire and there is no changing that. If you want to deny it that’s fine by me, I could care less... though the longer you go without blood the more easily you,l loose your humanity, or what’s left of it I guess.. you simply end up attacking anything and anyone including your friends and family. If you want that then feel free to leave.” The female the showed me the door that lead to the outside as she looked at me.
“So... you’re basically saying I’ve turned into a vampire? You’re saying that what happened last night was actually a vampire who attacked me, tried to kill me bu turning me into a meal but I end up surviving and somehow and end up becoming a vampire... how is that even possible..?” I ask the lady with utter confusion in my face, I was sure I would have died from the loss of blood. Okay I gotta admit I wanted to believe that the attack last night was because of some i***t drunk who just didn’t know when he should simply just go home. I didn’t want to face the fact that there were other being in this world other then the normal animals and humans that you usually see around. I desperately wanted this all to just be a silly dream, a prank, but my throat wouldn’t let me. I new deep down that I had indeed turned into a vampire. I was no longer a human.
The realization finally hit me and I couldn’t stop the tears that formed and rolled down my pale cheeks. “I’m no longer human...” I choked through my tears as I finally looked at the female who had been watching me all this time.
“That’s right, you’re no longer human unfortunately..” she stated as she let out a sigh and pulled me into a hug as I let all my emotions out.
“What do I do now...?” I was lost, I didn’t know what to do the only thing I knew was that I needed guidance, I needed someone to tell me everything was going to be okay.
“If you want I can help you till you’re all settled into being a vampire.” The lady offered, her voice had now changed from indifference to that of kindness. “I am one after all, I’ve been one for about 100 years. My name is Lucy.” The female finally introduced herself as Lucy as she stoked my hair gently.
“Okay..” was all I said, it was the only thing I could muster, I was honestly at a loss and her hell would greatly benefit me more at this point so the only thing I could do was accept her kind offer.
As I pulled away fro, her embrace I finally asked her what had been bothering me all this time. “Did you bring me here? What happened after I passed out?”
“I did, I found you while I was headed back fro, my hunt, your blood drew me in, you’re lucky if I had found you any later you would have died. I brought you here and stopped the bleeding unfortunately I couldn’t stop your transformation in time so I sink,y had to let you go through the change, in the end it was better then letting you die.” Lucy explained as she recalled what had happened the night before, or should I say the early morning.
“Where are we?” Was my next question as I finally started to calm down.
“An abandoned studio, I pretty much love here... well lived, I’ll be moving elsewhere once I help you get settled.”
“What?! You’ll be moving? Take me with you then!” I said to Lucy, even though I didn’t know her, she had helped and needed her, I wouldn’t know what to do without her not as a new born vampire.
“I can’t, once I finish here we shall go our separate ways. I will however do so research for you and find a coven of vampires for you, if there are any here in New York. It’s the main reason I’m moving, I haven’t found any here that belong to a coven. If there aren’t any covens that suit you I’ll try and find you one elsewhere... deal?” She offered me and of course I reluctantly nodded in agreement. It wasn’t much but it was better then nothing I suppose.
“Alright for now drink this and get some rest, we shall talk tomorrow morning.” Lucy stated as she handed me a bottle of what I can only assume is blood. Ugh I hated the thought of drinking it but I had to admit it smelled good. I reluctantly took it and without thinking about it a chugged the bottle of blood down and let out a sigh, with that my throat felt so much better, it no longer bother me and I finally felt like I had energy back.
Satisfied that I had drank the bottle of blood Lucy stood up and walked towards the door. “Alright rest, I’ll see in the morning. I’m heading out.” She told me before exiting the studio.
I had more energy in me but I still didn’t have enough to say I could stay awake so instead I laid back down and let myself slowly drink into sleep till morning that’s when my vampire lessons would begin.
