Unexpected Turning

chapter 9: A mate?!

Aria’s POV

My eyes had widened in complete shock at the sudden kiss that it took me a full minute to register what had just happened. After the realization hits me I push him off harder then I meant to since I used my vampire strength to do so. Watching him stumble back a little made me feel a little guilty but after remembering what happen it all washed away.

“What the hell?! Why would you do that! I mean you’re hot, like a total god but still! You had no right to kiss me even if I did almost run you over!” I yell at him as I step bit and closer to my car. I watched as his expression turns from shock to hurt in a single moment and that make my heart hurt for some reason. Seeing this man feeling hurt didn’t suit well with me and so I didn’t say anything further. I headed to my car door and opened it, I was about to get on when I heard him speak again making me stop.

“Wait! Look, I’m sorry I kissed you like that, even if you are my mate I should have forced myself on you like that, I just couldn’t control Midnight anymore.” He explained as he ran his hand through his hair, he looked exasperated with himself as he hurriedly explained himself.

“Wait… mate, I heard you say that before you kissed me, what do you mean mate?” I questioned him as I once again turned to look at him, waiting for him to explain himself as I was now completely lost.

“Fine I can explain everything just… just don’t leave. “ he said, his voice low and vulnerable. He looked so defenseless like a puppy pleading to his owner not to leave.

I sighed and nodded as I moved from my car to a trunk near by and sat down. “Explain then because I don’t get it, I’m a vampire, the only ones who have mates are werewolves, I’m not one so how could I be your mate? to top it off I’ve only been a vampire for what.. a month?” I explained with a huff as k motioned for him to sit down next to me.

Ace sighed with relief as he walked over and sat down before speaking “that makes sense as to why you don’t know much, I’m a hybrid, half werewolf and half vampire. My wolf’s name is Midnight, it’s rare but not unheard of for werewolves to have mates other then their own kind, my mother was a vampire and father a werewolf.” He scratched his head nervously, it was like he had completely changed in a single moment it was actually kinda cute and it made me giggle.

“Now I see, well…. Hmmm.. so, I’m your mate huh?” I question aloud as I pondered on the new information I had just received from Ace,

“You’re taking it better then I expected.” He said as he looked at me with a very charming smile if I say so myself.

“Not really, I’m totally in shock and have no idea what to do here, I never expected any of this, it’s all too much honestly.” I admitted as I let out a heavy sigh. Fist I get turned into a vampire and have to move to a whole new place and not even 48 hours later I find a guy who says he is my mate that also stole my first kiss. Life is full of unexpected events and now I’m tired.

‘First kiss!! s**t!’ I internally scream as my face slowly starts getting redder and redder from the realization. “Crap….” I mumble and let out yet another sigh as I burry my face in my hands.

“What’s the matter?” Ace asked. He looked worried about me and got closer to me to place his hand on my shoulder which caused sparks to shoot through where he was touching me.

“Nothing… nothing is wrong..” I mumbled as I pushed his hand away. I didn’t look at him as I told him.

“I don’t believe you so tell me.” He said a little more sternly.

“I said it’s nothing!!” I yelled without thinking as I looked at him, my face was tomate red at this point.

Ace growl and grabbed my hand as he looked into my eyes. He was watching me very intently and that made me nervous.

“I said tell me.” He demanded.

“Ugh!!!” I pulled away from him and stood up feeling frustrated by the whole situation. “I just had my first kiss taken forcefully okay!!” I yelled feeling completely embarrassed I just said that.

Ace stood up completely shocked and baffled about what I just revealed to him.

“I’m sorry….. I didn’t know..” he mumbled now feeling very uncomfortable.

I sighed as I waved my hand in dismissal.

“It’s fine.. it already happened, nothing I can do about it now.” I admitted as I looked at him. “It’s getting late though I better head back home.” I said as I looked at time time from my Apple Watch.

“Come to think of it it’s dark out now… but… Midnight doesn’t wish to leave you. He’ll try to take over again.” Ace explains as he walks over to me as if to stop me from leaving.

“Fine. I done want any issues.. let me talk to Noah.” I suggested and Ace growled possessively.

“Noah is my coven master!” I yelled “plus he already has a partner!” I huffed and turned away from him annoyed that he already felt like he owned me.

“I have alpha blood, Midnight is super possessive of you now since you are our mate.” He explained to me anxiously.

I sighed and mumbled as I pulled out my phone to call Noah “this is going to be a long night…”

After talking to Noah for about a half hour to explain what happened he talked to his partner and the other coven members about letting ace into the coven. He had hung up and said he would get back to me with their verdict as soon as it was all settled. I was sitting in my car with ace eating for the approval text for about 15 minutes before my phone chimed with a message notification. It was Noah texting me “I talked to everyone they all agreed that since he is your mate he will be welcomed into the coven. We will have to see if he is hostile towards everyone else so he will have to meet everyone before anything else. See you soon Aria!”

I sighed and then turned to look at Ace “I guess we are good to go, but you have to promise me that you will not hurt or threaten anyone. From my coven. They are all so nice to me, I like them all. They hace become my new family aside from my biological family.” I stated and he nodded.

“I promise I won’t do anything to any of them, as you said they are your family so I will consider them my own.” He smiled at me as he said that. The look on his face said that he was being sincere and that he would never do anything to hurt me.

I nodded and turns on the car and finally made my way back to my coven after a long day. This time I was headed back with my mate. I don’t know what going to happen but I hope things are changing for the better, well we shall see!
