chapter 3: Lessons and Expectations.

The next morning when I woke up I found myself face to face with a big bag of blood in the small table in front of me. I had honestly forgotten that I had turned into a vampire and it ended up hitting me like a brick as soon as I saw the bag of blood and the enticing smell that was coming from it. ‘Ugh... I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to drinking blood, then again... I find that the smell and taste is rather good so I hope I’ll be fine drinking it in a few months.’ I thought to myself as I leaned over and took the bag and opening it in the process. I took a sip and let out a heavy sigh as once again I had confirmed that indeed the blood tasted good and I had no control over it since I apparently was no longer human. “Well at least there is a small bright side to all this, I’m pretty much immortal now so I have all the time in the world to get my degree.” As I said those words allowed I finished the bag of blood and threw it in the trash can I saw in the corner of the room near the couch. It had been about a minute that passed by after drinking the blood from that blood bag when I finally stood and stretched around, I found that my entire body had completely changed, the exercises I normally did that I had somewhat of a hard time Donna were nothing now, I feel like I could do them in my sleep. I experimented a bit since Lucy wasn’t back yet and found out I could do a heck of a lot more then when I was human. I had abnormal sleep, hearing and even sight too. I could lift the couch without any effort on my part and it seemed as if my reflexes were much sharper and 100 times better then before, I had to admit I was loving this for sure. ‘I have to admit this is one of the best things about not being human, the restrictions that I had before no longer apply to me!’ I thought as I continued to experiment by doing some exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups and of course weight lifting.  An hour into my exercise Lucy finally came into the room, she looked at me quizzically for a moment before realizing what I had been doing. “So I see you wasted no time in experimenting on what you can do now.” She said as she walked over and looked me over before asking “feeling better now?”  I nodded and smiled as I lifted the couch to demonstrate to her that I was completely fine now, she laughed at this and shook her head.  “Oh I actually made you laugh!” I exclaimed and giggled as I watched her realize this and change her expression back to normal.  “Ahem, anyways let’s get started on your lessons, the sooner I finish teaching you the sooner I can leave.” She explains as she places some documents on the small table and takes a seat in the same place she did yesterday.  “Alright let’s see, I think we should start with the basics and move on from there.” Lucy began to say as she started looking through the documents before settling in on one of them. “Let’s begin by explaining the basic of vampires. We are not limited to night time. We vampires can roam around during the day, we basically look like humans except that we are much paler then they are, along with the fangs of course. The weakness that we have include, a steak to the heart, of course its fatal to everyone, duh! The other one would be getting our heads cut off and burning us by fire. We love pretty much for eternity unless of course we get killed. We do tend to be weak against holly objects likes crosses and holly water however it only weakens us slightly to the point where we are just slightly stronger then a normal human. Holy items aren’t really fatal to us as much as the others. Honestly the majority of vampires use holly water along with Alcohol to get drunk because our tolerance is so damn high it’s nearly impossible for us to get drunk or buzzed unless we use a small amount of holy water along with the drinks. The dangers to a vampire are minimal, other then the weaknesses that I mentioned there are a few other things to consider. There is the existence of werewolves along with vampire hunters. They tend to be the main reason why vampires die. A lot of the time they tend to overlook us, but there are some on both sides, werewolves and hunters who just opening hate us and hunt us down no matter what, weather we are good or bad. Those should be the ones to be most weary of. Like I said most of them leave us alone, mainly because we all have a pact that we vampires are to not harm humans in any way. This is our most basic and fundamental rule as a vampire. If you ever attack a human you would be considered a lot one. A lost one is what we refer to a vampire who has lost its way and no longer has any humanity left in them. That is what the vampire who attacked you was, a lost one. Of course if you live by the rules set you should honestly have no issues. Other then that vampires have powers that they gain and tend to unlock as time goes, they tend to start discovering them as they adjust to their new life and such. I would say all in all it’s pretty convenient being a vampire, lots of time, not much expenses In food and such, and of course there is the benefit of having the protection of a coven if you join one. There are vampires who never join a coven and they are known as solitary vampires. They mostly wonder around and never stay in a single place for too long. These vampires tend to be rare though as most of us like to be in a coven and have the support of a family if you would call it that. We can talk about covens later though as it’s another topic, for now that will be all, break time for some lunch,” As she continues with her expectations she shows me each piece of document relating to each topic that she was talking about. After she finished explaining she wanted to go ahead and take a break, mainly because while she had been talking she had been pointy out the facts as well as handing me the documents so I could look at them myself. So after she finished she stood up stretched and headed out to go get food for both of us.  After an hour of resting and making sure to eat we sat back down to continue with my lessons on vampires. Dyeing my break I had made sure to go someplace where I had signal and was finally able to get all the missed calls, text and such from my family and friends. I took the time to let them know I was fine and safe. I had explained that I had gone to an area that had no signal and that I had been unable to contact them until now. I apologized countless times to them and let them know I wouldn’t be going ho,e for a while since I didn’t know how long I would be here. After I finished with everything and made sure everything was okay and no longer worried sick about me I had headed back to continue with my lessons, and thus here I am now waiting to continue.  So now it seems that we are moving on from the basics of what I need to know about vampires to the history of about vampires and covens. “First off, y;u need to know that the first vampires that ever existed were named Soledad, for the female and Alene for the male. If you’re into the stuff of the meaning of names well they both mean alone or lonely. No one know how they ended up turning, the one thing we know is that they are the originals. All vampires that exist now came after them, they are the most powerful and ancient creatures to exist of our kind. In the beginning they lived in solitude, they didn’t want humans finding out about them however over time they changed their mind and decided that they wanted to change things. They went into the open and let the,de;vets be known to human. As you know how humans can be, they fear the vampires and outcasted them from the shadows as they were too scared of them to openly outcast them. This is how the vampire hunters emerged, they are the descendants of the many humans who hated the vampires. After years of living among humans Soledad and Alene were hunters down by the humans, especially a specific family. This family still exists till this day through their descendants, they are known as the strongest and most cruel of vampires hunters because they don’t care if they kill a lost one or not, to them vampires are vampires and nothing more and so they will kill any and all vampires. They are known as the Garnet family. They Have many and of course are the descendants of the very first vampire hunters who hunted and eventually after many centuries killed the originals. The originals had lived among humans for about a decade before the Garnet family had decided to publicly hunt them down. We don’t know why it took them so long since we know for sure that they had resented the originals since the beginning, but we assume that the reason is because they need time to prepare to face such powerful enemies such the originals. We also believe that they waited so long was because of the lack of supernatural powers to combat the originals as they had an immense amount of power, more the. One could fathom. So we know now that partly why they waited so long was because they were somehow getting their family members to be born with supernatural powers. Even now their members have some type of supernatural power. However just any other supernatural being they have to keep their powers a secret from the rest of the humans. Going back to the originals, by the time that the first vampire hunters made their move they had already created thousands and thousands of vampires meaning that there were not just 2 to deal with but thousands more. By the time that the head of the family of the Garnets along with his partner killed the two original vampires it was too late to prevent more from being born and so that how everything started. In the beginning when more hunters started showing up they would kill mercilessly and without hesitation, it was till after another few hundred years later that they rules were set in place, this was after the werewolves had already shown themselves a d had hunted down many of our kind. We don’t know how they first originated by we suspect that it happened so,e time after the originals created the rest of our kind. Back to the rules, once they were established a council of vampires was created to govern us all and make sure that we knew of the rules and of course to enforce those rules. They are know. As konsey, which is Turkish for council, pretty sure the name sounded cool so they rolled with it. Contrary to their name though they are located in Spain. There are a total of 5 council members and who knows how many other vampires work under them. It’s basically a vampire government. So with a government established now our society is the way it is now pretty much.” Lucy told me all about this as she handed me documents detailing the establishment of thing like,e the council, the hunters and such. She also made sure to give me the run down on the rules, basic ones like,e no hunting human, no exposing ourselves to humans, and such. There were other rules regarding the supernatural realm but she didn’t feel like going into detail about it so she simply gave me a book that would tell me about it instead. I didn’t mind since I like to read anyway so I just plan on reading it later on when I get the chance.  The next thing she wanted to talk about was the origins of covens and what they are about.  “So this portion is actually not as complex as the other two topics. Covens were actually created by a group of vampires at first, they felt like they wanted the connection to a family or as close to a family as they could because they didn’t have one. So they banded together and declared themselves a family, coven. Of course there are covens that are family only which ,early unless you Mary into the family you can’t join their coven, have to be family one way or the other, by union.” As Lucy say this to me she hands me a list of covens that don’t accept outsiders, and a list of those who do. They were mainly for reference though.  “Every new coven must be registered with the council. There are exceptions as there are covens that are not registered. They are known as dark covens. Those types of covens are filled with basically the bad type of vampires. Just like with witches, there are good and of course there are bad, which is why a witch’s coven that isn’t part of their system is known as a dark coven too. I don’t know much about witches so don’t ask me, got it?!” She asked as she gave me a piercing glare and I simply nodded to this.  “Going Back to the topic, registered covens don’t have a limit of how many members they can have, the only limits they have is what they themselves have placed, which means if you join a coven you will have to abide by the additional rules that they had set up for themselves. My advice is do what I’m doing and do your research, even though I said I would help you find a coven it doesn’t mean you should leave it up to me.  So I think that’s all the basics you need to know... honestly there is a lot more but you’ll learn as you go along and here are some the other books you can read to get more info. The council also has a website that is only accessible for vampires, it’s always security checked by their tech teach that consists of member with gifts for technology, they are mainly why humans are so advanced. At this point you shouldn’t be surprised that a lot of the technological advancements were made mainly because of us vampires and the research we have put in throughout the generations. Anyways I can get you into the site and it will have pretty much all the info you’ll need. To get into the website you need permission from someone who is already in, lucky for you I am. So I’ll also do that for you before I leave.” Lucy was so helpful. After she finished with her lessons she also answered all my questions such as some coven location even and where the  originals first showed themselves to humans and territories for witches and werewolves or even there to avoid hunters. She had pulled out a map and point to each place and gave me the info I wanted to know about, or as much as she knew of course. We spent a great deal smooch of time in the lessons, I was surprised that she was good at teaching even though she looked like she didn’t enjoy it. Honestly I’m glad that she took the time to save me and teach me all this because I would honestly be completely lost without her, or worse dead. The last thing she explained to me before she truly finished was that vampires have blood banks where they go to get blood, it’s basically like a private grocery store for us since we have to pay to get the blood but that’s mainly because they have to pay the suppliers for it too.  After everything was said and done Lucy kept her world and got me into the official vampires website and gave me a lead to a promising coven located in a small town in Washington state. I gotta admit I’m not so thrilled and it was less then ideal for me as it was a far cry to what I was originally aiming for. She said it would be best to be away from too many humans and best to be away from friends and family members for the time being as they could notice any changes going on and it wouldn’t be good I they thought something was off. I took her advice and told her I would look into it, both the coven itself and the location too, I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing, though something told me I should take the opportunity and move there, I don’t know why but I just felt like I needed to be there for some reason but I’m not about to just jump into the idea without first doing my due diligence.  After Lucy left to her new destination I was left alone in the now more empty place. She had sold everything that was in the place so now it just looked empty, I had watched as vampires came in and out to get their new things. Once I said goodbye to her I finally made my way home, it had been days since I had been home even thought I did make sure to let everyone know that I was alright. I had made an excuse that I had made a new friend, which wasn’t a complete lie, I told them that she was going to help me with my career because I had suddenly decided that I didn’t want to go to school for psychology at the moment and she was helping me figure things out. They totally freaked out and asked a lot of questions, I honestly got overwhelmed by the questioning but I decided to bare with it since I did make them suffer quiete a bit.  Now after what seemed like forever I was heading back home. I had said my goodbyes to Lucy and had given her a very heartfelt hug even though she looked like she was super annoyed by the gesture I knew that deep down she appreciated it. I leaned many things from her but from now on it was up to me to choose my course of action as well as the new direction to which my life would take. The first step? Well find a new place to move to!!  Somewhere in Washington a figure could be seen wondering around with no particular destination, the black silhouette seemed to be of a very tall and somewhat muscular male. Their goal? Unknown. Who they are? Unknown. What will result with the ever intertwining strings of fate? Let’s find out shall we?
