chapter 4: The move

2944 Words
I had been home for a few days now, it has been pretty hectic with everything that is going on. I have been busy sorting out my old life that I honestly haven’t had time for much vampire thing. I first had to go to the college and let them know of my change of plan. I then had to explain to my parents for the 20th time that I was alright and that there was totally nothing wrong with me. I made it seem like I had an Epiphany of some sort or other to finally make them back off. Honestly the only one I haven’t gotten through to is my best friend Vicky who oddly enough was acting rather strange, by strange I mean I haven’t gotten into contact with her much other then when I first got back. It was rather peculiar and I couldn’t put my finger on it since I’ve never known her to act this way. I texted her a few time but her replies have been short and go the point, so I just wonder if it’s just me. Perhaps it may be wrong to assume that something is wrong with her, after all school is starting soon so she must be busy getting ready for that. Well anyways I’ll forget it for now.  “Right now I need to focus on finally looking Into the coven in Washington they Lucy recommend. Honestly it’s less the ideal but it’s what I’ve got to go off of right now…” I said to myself as I sighed and opened my laptop and began my research.  “It looks like the coven is located in an with two connecting towns, centralia and chahalis, though it’s mainly located in the outskirts of centralia, I wanna day almost in the middle of nowhere, Though it does seem to have private land. I guess that’s good….” After looking into the exact location I went ahead and looked into the schooling as well as population for the area. Down town they had a decent collage but no major malls like in the big cities. If I wanted to actually go shopping I would have to travel all the way to Seattle which was about an hour and a half away. I wasn’t thrilled but I do like the little town so I’ll take a look at what else it has. From what I could tell the small town had a lot to offer a few nice gyms, parks and a small selection of stores to go to. The more I looked at it the more I was getting into the idea of moving there, I started to feel like it would be a nice idea to live a nice and peaceful life without any issues there.  Life can truly be so interesting as to turn out not so much as the way you wanted it to, that’s for sure!  I was still not fully convinced about moving to Washington and I sure as hell was not going to tell anyone if I ever did, I wasn’t about to blow my cover that the main reason why I was moving was because of I’ve turned into a vampire and was advised to live with a coven at least till I got used to thing or permanently if I wanted to. Do keeping that in mind, I’ve been secretly looking into things.  The main good thing about this is that expenses for living there aren’t as bad as they are here.  As I kept on browsing thought the details I heard a soft jock on my bedroom door, ever since becoming a vampire I’ve noticed the many changes that I’ve gone through and one of them is the fact that I know exactly who it is by the smell they give of off so even before I heard the nock I already knew that my mother was coming up to see me.  “Yes come in mom!” I called out as I closed my laptop and positioned myself on the bed to face the one opening door to my room.  “Hey honey, I wanted to talk…” she said somewhat concerned “Yeah, what’s up?” I said  “As you know your father end I are still worried about you. This change is so sudden, you told us they it was and Epiphany of some sort but never the less we are still your parents and are worried that you might have gotten yourself into something.” The look on her face totally said it all, I honestly didn’t have  hear her say any of that to know that they were worried about me even though I had told them multiple times already that I was fine and that I hadn’t gotten into anything even though that was a lie. I mean it’s not like I can tell them so in a way it isn’t completely a lie because I’m positive I didn’t get into anything they are thinking about, like drugs, gangs and stuff like that, or worse case scenario, you get the drift. “Mom, I’m alright, nothing happened, it was just a lot of to process when finally got to the end goal of going to school and well, I just felt like I wasn’t ready, so I’m aiming for something more simple for now. I’m not say I’ll give it up for good, just not for now. Plus I want to travel before I get into college and have to put all my time into studying.” I explained as I took her hand in mine. “I promise they I’ll let you know if anything happens to me.”  “Alright sweetie. Just please let us know, you know we are always happy to help you out no matter what!” As she said that she started to get testy eyed in me and I had to give her a hug.  After our talk she stood up and left with a small smile that felt somewhat lonely to me.  After that I didn’t feel Like doing any more research so I went ahead and simply laid down and put on some music to calm myself down. This made me pass out for a while.  I honestly didn’t think I would sleep through the rest of the day and night because I didn’t feel that I was tired, plus Lucy had said they vampires don’t really need sleep. I guess we did it as a hobby or pass the time, I wasn’t too sure. I swiftly got out of bed and got ready before I went down stairs to greet my family. Today seemed like a nice day and I haven’t had the chance to simply relax so I texted Vicky to see if she wanted to hang out and soon I got a reply back with a simple sure why not. I got ready to go go meet her after setting up a time and place. We would be meeting at the mall in an hour so of course I made sure I was good and ready before letting my parents know where o was going and headed off. They were still worried about me leaving the house but since I am an adult and can defend myself she didn’t put too much of a fuss, good thing too cause for once I couldn’t wait to see Vicky.  After arriving at the meeting spot I immorality saw Vicky standing there so I ran over to her and attacked her with a big bear hug which she was surprised about since I normally didn’t do that. “Hey girl!! Been a while!” I said as I finally let go. “Yeah sorry I’ve been really busy lately..  lots to do. My grandma came and I’ve been spending most of my time with her. She’s been telling me lots of stories and since I’m the only granddaughter she had it’s my duty to listen to her!!” She explained and gave me the biggest smile on her face as she did so. I could tell she loved her grandma a lot and why wouldn’t she, she would always be spoiled by her.  “That’s great I hope you enjoy your time with her!! I haven’t gotten the chance to meet her but from all you’ve told me do far I’m for sure they she is an awesome person!!” I told her as I started to drag her inside the mall before it started to get late. My plans for today were to simply hang out with my best friend and shop!  Of course since I planned on moving I needed to do some shopping. I had found out they Washington was a place where there was more rain and cold then sunshine so I needed to buy cloths for that type of weather.  Vicky told me they her grandma was very wise and that she loved trachea her of the many things of life and such. I couldn’t really follow and what she was saying didn’t make sense to me honestly. After a bit the topic of conversation changed to me moving, or more or less traveling since that’s what I told my parents I was planning on doing instead of going to school. I had explained to her that my first trip was somewhere somewhat cold and that’s why I was getting warmer cloths for myself. I also explained that I didn’t know exactly where I was headed so I couldn’t give her much details about the location. I made sure to reassure her that I would let her know when I got settled.  I went around the many stores and picked out items I thought were cute and and warm mainly coats, Vicky being the fashion freak of the two of us helped me out with normal wear cloths that she thought would look good with the coats that I got. All the things she picked were super cute and stylish but most importantly they were the types of cloths I am so down to wearing. I love how my best friend knows me so well. Makes me wonder if she is psychic, she seems to always read my mind on what I want or what I’m looking for. I swear sometimes she even knows where I am without my having to tell her.  It took us about a half the day for us to finally start to wind down and get the last few items needed but we managed. After we finished we headed back and went to have lunch at a bear by restaurant that had the best sushi. I was seriously going to miss this place because I love sushi!  Vicky and I chatted some more as we enjoy the delicious sushi we had both gotten. We had gotten a table in the far corner of the restaurant for privacy and because of that we were free to talk about whatever it was we wanted and so naturally the topic turned to boy talk. I had a feeling that she was dying to tell me all about this new guy she had met and was currently getting to know. It had pretty much been at the club we had gone to the night I got turned into a vampire. She had been partying hard and was of course chit chatting with all the hot guys she could find. She explained that out of nowhere this really hot guy approached her and they started to converse. His name was Eric, she told me he was 24 and the best part for her was that he was totally single, good for her I thought as I smiled while listening to her blabber on and on about him. It felt nice having this normal time with her, it felt like nothing had changed. I let myself go for the time being and let myself think that I wasn’t a vampire, I wasn’t going to move far away from my family and friends and everything that I knew. I let myself think that I was my normal every day self simply just enjoyed the moment.  Sadly all good things have to come to an end, this time just like any other it had to end. I was bright back to reality when Vicky finally said it was time for her to go back home. I let out a sigh low enough for her to to catch on as I stood up and went to the front to pay for our food I had managed to convince her that it was my treat and went ahead and paid for the food. After exiting the place we headed back to our original spots where we met in the morning to say goodbye. I told her I was planning to leave in about two days when I made sure everything was sorted out. “I’ll miss you Aria…. Hopefully I’m able to go visit you.. wherever you are in the world. Just let me know end I’ll be there in a heartbeat!!” Vicky said through tears as she hugged me tightly. She was never a crybaby but today she caved and cried for a long time until there were no more tears left for her to cry, the reason being, she didn’t know when we would be able to see each other next. It could happen in a year or maybe two but i know that it could also never happen again, you don’t know what life will bring you after all.  After all the waterworks and occasional sobbing from the both of us we finally had the courage to speak.  “I promise I’ll always text you, I’ll give you calls and when I’m finally settled I’ll let you come visit! I promise Vicky.” I wiped my tears and gave her the brightest smile I could “I promise that no matter what we will always be friends, bo the best of friends!”  Vicky laughed and gave me this ridiculously smug expression that it made me laugh too along with her. “Don’t be stupid of course we will always be the best of friends!! Once you’re all settled end let me know I’ll be in the first flight over or whatever, depending on where in the world you are! I’ll look forward to texting you and calling you when we get the chance!”  “Yeah for sure girl! Thanks for coming with me and helping me shock, heavens knows how lost I would be without your fashion sense!” I giggled  “Don’t get me started!! You would be a fashion disaster!! Ugh I don’t even want to think about it!!” It was clear as day goes frustrated she felt and how devastated she would be knowing my fashion sense, if made me laugh.  “Alright it’s late and I don’t wanna worry my parents more then I already have. I’ll see you when I see you bestie!! Love you!!” I told her before giving her one last hug and finally walking off towards my house and away from my only best friend in the world.  Time flies when you’re having fun as they say, soon enough it was time for me to depart. I had gotten plane tickets to Seattle, I had told my parents I was just making a brief stop there since I already wanted to see the space tower there. We were on our way to the airport at the time, making idle chit chat sling the way. This was nice, I felt at peace. After saying goodbye to my best friend a few days ago I had really buckled down and did my research, I had contacted. The leader of the coven (is you want to call them leader they were more of a representative then anything just in case they needed any representations in front of the council and what not.) we have been in contact end I let them know my flight number and landing time. They had told me that they would send someone to pick me up.  After arriving to the airport I went to the check in and got everything settled, I said goodbye to my parents one last time and made sure to give them the best and longest hug I’ve ever given them in my entire life. I then turned and headed towards the plane that was headed to Seattle and towards my new life as a vampire.
