Chapter Twenty-Four
CHERISH WALKED OUTSIDE, the paper plates and plastic cups in her hands. Aubrey was right, Cherish needed to discover what Glen was so upset about, but she couldn’t allow his mood to affect Jordie’s party. She forced a smile onto her face as she moved over to the table set up for the supplies, watching as Glen talked to the guy who brought the bounce house as they finished up. She placed the plates and cups on the table and then turned to wait until the two finished talking. Her father had already returned inside, probably a smart move considering how Glen talked to the bounce house guy. Cherish made sure she smiled while she waited, doing her best not to set Glen off any more than he already was.
