Chapter Five

Boom!The explosion took down five buildings and the ear-splitting; clangorous sound almost burst their ear drums. The sands flew into theirs eyes,this made them to fall negligently into sharp objects. The Defenders were almost down.

Rays walked scrupulously around the dismantled building, coughing impetuously with his hands on his blood-stained mouth. He triedo fan the raging smoke but it proved to worsen the case,a voice came from the other side of the smoke and Flamerex and Techno staggered out to meet Rays.

Flamerex wasn't bothered by the smoke but by his injury,he touch the bruises on his face and scowled. He seem not to be glad about it."All villains are dead but we still can't find X-rod."

"Didn't you check the bank in the west?"Rays asked

Techno coughed"We checked it and we even went as far as checking the Wedco's restaurant.But he wasn't there. The guy is like a ghost."

Rays was jumbled"Is Rocsyd still in position?"

"Yes."

"Alright lets head to the park, Bob and Rob will definitely be waiting for us ."Rays said and damned himself.

Flamerex touched his bruises again in wrath"Bob will indubitably be mad at us by now. We are late."

He attempted to wheel his body to be in position but he was feeble,the explosion had also affected him. Rocsyd was flaccid and exhausted but he felt a need to be in position,his heart kept on pounding quickly and a abrupt trepidation gripped him,and his mind kept on pricking him to get up. Hesitatingly, he tried to stand thrice but ended up toppling back to the ground,then he saw it was quite impossible to stand. He decided to crawl and as he got on his infirm knees he caught a glimpse of someone. His curiosity made him to go closer in the smoke then he magnify the view with his suit's robotic eyes. What he saw made him to gawk. It wasn't one person walking,they were three.

"This way!"Flamerex said and his teammates tailed him into the park,the lethal bomb had also an effect on the beautiful Park,which now happens to be the otherwise,and the Defenders were stunned.

"Bob!"Flamerex shouted creating fire from his hands in order to light up the place because the part of the park was murky"Bob, Robert!"

But no one answered.

They explored everywhere in search of them notwithstanding no one was around,Rays was angry and,of course hungry. He was confused and rather jumbled"We told them to stay here, didn't we?"Techno nodded,"then where are they at?"

No one knew how to answer the question or rather they didn't have the answer the question, instead they gazed around,still having a little hope of finding them.

There was a ring on the ground and this caught Flamerex attention. It was the silver ring,he went towards it and picked it up. Flamerex gazed at it with his melancholy brown eyes,he held it for sometimes then said,"see this, it's Bob's silver ring"Techno and Rays joined him."This is Bob's ring and now I found it on the ground."

They were interrupted by a call from Rocsyd, Techno faced his teammates for a short while,as though he wanted them to give him a go-ahead sign, after sometime he pressed the green button and Rocsyd voice popped in.

"Taft, strange news, I just saw Bobby and Rob tailing X-rod."

"What do you mean?"Rays inquired and snatched the war-phone from Techno.

"You heard me,they're following him."he replied artlessly

Rays went down to his knees,he tossed the phone to a corner then said,"damn!"He articulated hitting his lap with his right fist.

"What?"Flamerex asked

He gulped and stared at one side"The truth is,"he said,"they're bewitched."He managed to whisper with clenched teeth.

Flamerex and Techno exchanged glances,this time they were the ones confused.
