Becca

Ah…thanks, Becca, right, but I can manage. Here’s the bus and….., I said rejecting Becca’s offer for a ride. Ah, hey! I’m nice and I don’t usually ask someone to ride with me just Rupert and Theo but please don’t make me look stupid in front of our classmates. Destiny, Des, please!!!, Becca added sweetly and very insistent. Okay, just this once!, I replied and hopped in Becca’s car, then we drove away. Jamie saw me from about 50 feet away when she was about to walk to the other side of the road to get a ride and frowned. Nice car, yours?, I asked while checking on her fully furnished and sweet smelling car. Yes, my dad gave this to me for my birthday. I just turned 18 this month, thanks!, Becca said happily. Oh, happy birthday!, ah my block’s just about there and you can turn there, it’s not that far why I choose to ride the bus or just walk, it’s fun and healthy!, I cried explaining. Oh, okay, cool! Ah, thanks for not making me look like a fool out there. You know, I like you Destiny. I mean like, like!, Becca said sweetly and tried to hold my hand which I moved away so she couldn’t. Okay, we’re here, thanks and good day Becca!, I replied hopping out of her car and skidding away as fast as I can to ignore what she said and how I felt now after hearing her said that. Becca was dumbfounded and she said hi to dad which my dad in turn smiled and helloed back. She drove away and I looked back and walked a little and stopped, sat at our front lawns stair case. Then breathed hard. I realized that I wasn’t really breathing normally when I was in Becca’s car. Oh, that’s so embarrassing. Hey baby! Who’s that? She nice and cute!, Mark asked and held my arm so he could pull me up and hug me. I didn’t answer since I was in total shock that Becca asked me to be with her even just for a while. She even told me she liked me. But I blew it. Well, it’s okay, no harm done. Baby, whatever is it you’re dealing with, papa’s here to help you out, okay! It’ll be fine. That girl seems to like you very much, Mark said happily. Let’s go tiger! Mom and I cooked Bologna Pasta! Mom, our principal asked me to join their theatre club and I don’t know if I can do it. What do you think?, I asked mom while she is fixing the table and I washing the plates. Well, do you like the people you’re going to be with or the group you’ll be part of?, Belle asked. Well, yes, they’re all nice but this Becca. She seemed into me, I don’t know she said she likes me. But I don’t know how to react on it. I like her but not as much as she likes me I guess. But yes I want to join the club since I don’t have one yet, anyway, because I’m new, I cried wiping my hands to dry them off and sat in front of mom still finishing to fix the table. Hmm…then, it’s okay. It’s about time you do things you’re not familiar with. It’s good to learn new things and maybe you’ll be good at it too, right! And about this girl, she is nice, your dad sais she even said hi to him. So maybe she can be a new friend that you can be with aside from your friends that you usually run with. I didn’t have many friends before but I chose them carefully. And they seem to be gems that I can still call or chat with until today. You’re a good kid honey, I know she likes you because you’re you, and sweet, nice, smart, and pretty! Belle explained smiling at me after kissing me on both cheeks. Yup, I know mom! Hehe!, I replied with mom laughing at me when I said I know that I’m pretty. I thought of what mom said and realized that Becca is a good girl. Though students in school are scared or wooed by her richness, beauty and popularity. I just don’t know why she chose me and why not other girls who likes and adores her in school? It’s not bad at all. We rode a private bus and since we were told before that we will have the workshop at school I didn’t bring stuff just a few clothes and all. But when Jessica spoke that we had sudden change of plans and that we will be having the workshop with the professionals at Toi Whakaari. A prestigious and foremost drama school in the country. Becca mentioned before that her dad hailed from Wellington and she grew up there but moved here on business. Becca sat beside me and smiled, excited to see me. We hugged each other and when about to kiss me I gave her a peck on the cheek. It’s kind of awkward really but I want her to be my best friend, for now. It’s fun and lovely being with her and I don’t want to complicate things between us if we become more than that. And it’ll be my first, I mean with a girl and embarrassing as it may seem. I don’t really care. We headed to a small road then stopped at a wooden gate. It says Reynolds Farms. What are we doing in a farm? Jessica then spoke again in the middle of the bus and advised that we are about to enter Reynolds family farm and Becca’s family is happy to accommodate us for the weekend. Since we have two months to rehears for the play, we need a good place to do the workshop. It’s nothing like ever seen before. Mom’s hometown in Lake Nijori, Japan is beautiful and peaceful, this agricultural farm is one of a kind. The whole club aside from Becca who disappeared from beside me (maybe she went out already since I was asleep like a baby earlier), wowed with the hundred or thousand acres of organic onions, dairy and more.
