When Two Worlds Meet

Chapter 4 | Birthday pt.2

The rest of the morning went by great with minimal drama at school.

At lunch I made my way to the cafeteria, I got there and ordered a sandwich and orange juice. I made my way to where me and Lorna usually sit.

I got to our table and found Lorna and Jaden with a few of his friends already sitting there. Jaden was one of the popular guys in high school, with his charming people skills and his athletic nature. It was easy for him to make friends with whomever he wanted.

Jaden turned to me and had the biggest smile plastered on his face.

"Happy birthday Jessie" he said as he gave me a hug. "here is your gift."

I opened the gift bag and found a limited edition the book I've been raving about for months, with the author's signature! And

a chocolate.

"Yay, this is so awesome. I've been looking for this forever!! Where did you get it?"

"Duh, Amazon."

"Wow, I never thought a respectable book like this would be sold online. I hope it didn't cost you too much. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I said bouncing on my toes.

"You're such a nerd" Lorna said. That I am.

"Happy birthday Roberts" Randy/ Samantha's boyfriend said while motioning for a hug.

I became a little hesitant at first. Oh what the heck. I hugged him back and as we were breaking out of the hug, 'Little Miss Thing' walked into the cafeteria. Why can't the universe let me be happy!!!

She looked down at my hands and saw the gift bag. Oh no, this didn't look good. She then turned around and stormed out of the cafeteria,probably to vent to someone about how she wants to murder me in my sleep. Randy didn't even notice.

The rest of the group then went on to give me birthday wishes. Hugs, high-fives, the works.

I honestly enjoyed the rest of my day and tried to avoid Samantha, the best way I could.

School came out early since it was a Friday. Lorna and I went to the school gate and found my brother waiting for me. Ever since we turned 13, it was always a tradition of ours to go somewhere special together.

We dropped Lorna off at her house, a driver was going to be sent for her and Jay for our birthday dinner.

We then went to the arcade store and had fun. We played all types of games and the loser always got the most stupid dares. Alex won a Mario game and then dared me to get 3 guys to give me their numbers, with my inexperience in dating.

I won the pool game and dared him to scream, "THE WORLD IS ENDING, SAVE YOURSELF". He was such a sport and the scared and/or weird looks people gave him were priceless. I never laughed so hard in my life.

We finished our fun day off with some ice-cream and made our way home, to my parent's house.

My parents built the house they live in, the house we grew up in. They just wanted us to stay away from the chaos that happens in the pack house. The other ranked members thought of this as a good idea and they now lived in their mansions in the village. The packhouse is for children of ranked members and junior warriors who have no mates and no families of their own. They stay in the pack house until they find their mates and have families.

The ground floor is for common activities, kitchen, lounges, game room. The first floor is for omegas who also have no families of their own. The second floor is guest rooms.

The third floor is the Gamma floor, where me and my brother stay. The fourth is the beta floor, where Justin and his sisters Lexie and Stephanie stay. The fifth floor is the Alpha floor, where Derrick, his brother Jarred, and their little sister Kate stay.
