Chapter 5 | Dinner party

Jessie POV

We got to the house and found my mother ordering people around to make things perfect. I swear this woman lived for her kids. She was very busy with her Gamma female and Psychology duties but she showed up for everything.

"Aw my babies, all grown up. It was like yesterday when your father and I brought you home from the hospital." she started tearing up.

"Mom, not the waterworks." I said as I wrapped her in a hug. Alex then wrapped us both in a hug.

After we finished our emotional moment. My dad walked in.

"Hey dad" I said as I skipped towards him and gave him a hug.

"Happy birthday sweetheart, you may be 18 but you're still my little girl."

He then turned to my brother and said, "18 sure looks good on you. It's like looking in an 18 year old mirror."

"I guess I do possess great genes. Thanks old man." He said as he pulled out his camera and did that face rubbing thing guys do when they feel handsome.

"Do you two need a room?" I said.

"Oh you also look beautiful sweetheart. In fact you're one of the two most beautiful women I've ever seen."

"Aw thanks dad!" I then looked at Alex and said "See! I'm still the favorite"

He rolled his eyes.

"Alright guests will arrive in two hours. Go upstairs and get ready. I want the two of you ready at 7pm sharp" my mother order as she pushed us out of the room.

Alex is an exact replica of my dad. His curly hair, emerald eyes, his dark chocolate skin and his body structure. They had a slight height difference with my father being 6 feet and my brother being 6'2. When they were standing together, you wouldn't make the mistake of thinking that they're not related.

I was a mixture of both my parents I have my dad's type of curly hair, my mothers brown eyes, my dad's chocolate skin and everything else. I'm also tiny like my mother, very short, very curvy.

I then went to my room to get ready. I took a shower and picked out my outfit. I did my hair into a low middle part bun. My hair is thick enough to make the bin on its own so I didn't use any extentions. I wore a knee length blue dress with off the shoulder sleeves it had a slit that rode up mid thigh. The tight dress showed my curves perfectly. I wore some diamond earrings and a necklace. I finished up with some mascara and lip gloss. "No need for heavy make up tonight"

I finished at about six thirty. Alex walked out at the same time I did. He wore a blue shirt and black dress pants.

"Looking sharp" I said to him.

"Thanks, you look pretty sis."

"Aww thank you"

We went downstairs. Everything looked perfect, the decor, the people and the food.

Lorna and Jay attended. The Alpha, Beta and Gamma families were very close in our pack. We grew up with the Beta's and Alpha's kids. Derrick, Jarred, Kate, Lexie, Steph and Justin were there along with Aunt Jane and Uncle Chris, the former Alpha and Luna and Aunt Maddy and Uncle George, the former Betas.

The dinner went very well and I really enjoyed it, we had fun conversations and laughed all night. I really enjoyed spending time with the family. We received lots of gifts.

After dinner, the adults went into the wine room to have drinks and we went to the home theater and watched movies til we called it a night at about 11:30.

I showered, wore some pyjamas and went to bed. As I was about to fall asleep I had a huge headache like someone was running a marching band inside my head. The headache eased and I suddenly felt like I was being slipped into an alternate dimension. Then I head the voice.

Hey Jess.

Oh my God. Who's there?

It's me, your wolf. I'm Star.

Oh wow! It is really you.

Yep, it is Happy birthday.

Then she went away, just like that. I was so amazed and so sleepy. I figured
