Jessie Pov
I arrived at school fifteen minutes early. I walked to my locker and I found my best friend Lorna and her boyfriend Jaden there.
"Ewwww, get a room! Smooching in public should be illegal.", I whined.
"Hey Jessie, how are you, I'm doing awfully great this morning", Jaden said.
"I'm doing terrible" I said.
Lorna and Jaden both laughed at how grumpy I was in the mornings.
Some of Jay's friends passed by while we were in conversation and he was about to leave. He turned around and gave Lorna one last kiss before he left.
"Alright guys, it's my que to leave. Be good" he said as he gave me a hug. He then did a slow jog to catch up with his friends.
"Soo..." Lorna gushed excitedly.
"Soo...?" I asked, completely confused.
"Ugh it's your birthday on Friday. What do you plan to do for the big one-eight"
"I wish I could stay home and watch Netflix while eating cake and all my favorite snacks, but my mom is throwing a big dinner party."
"Ah! this is so exciting. A dinner party on top of a party!"
"I don't understand the big fuss behind this. It's just another day, why don't we eat cake and go to sleep."
"What?!" she said looking at me like I've grown two heads "AEE YOU KIDDING ME?!! This is a big deal, after eighteen you meet your mate then go on and be happy."
"Would you stop screaming? I'm not trying to tell the whole world that I'm from a different species"
"Right sorry. But I think you should be more excited than you currently are. This is the beginning of the rest of your life."
As she was about to chatter on about how lucky werewolves were to have someone who was made just for them. The loud ringing of the school bell disturbed her, notifying us that it was time for class.
"Yay, saved by the bell" I joked.
"Come on, I'll walk you to English" Lorna said as she hooked my arm to hers. She spent the whole way telling what she did on her weekend, which mostly consisted of her time with her and Jaden. I was so happy for them, they were just the cutest couple I've ever seen. They met during our freshman year and have been hopelessly in love ever since. She's the fiesty adorable one of the pair and he's as sweet as they come.
Lorna is human, we've friends since 7th grade. I knew her like the back of my hand and so did she. Her and Jaden were the only ones I told about the whole non-human thing. I loved her like a
sister.
I walked into dreadful English and walked to my seat. As I was doing so, Samantha rushed to my seat. You'd swear she does everything to mess with me. You see, two years ago her now boyfriend and then crush asked me to help him out with a science project and we had to spend a substantial amount of time together. I guess that rubbed her the wrong way and she then made herself my self-appointed nemesis. Now she's always on the outs for me. I know, how stupid right?
"You're in my seat"
"So?" she said with a smug look on her face. Oh how I wish I could wipe it off.
"Move out of my seat!"
"Well if you can move in on things that don't belong to you, then so can I. Don't you think?"
"I swear this b***h is testing my patience" I whispered under my breath "Look Samantha, I don't know what you are talking about but what I do know is that you're in my seat and you need to move."
"Make me"
As I was about to spit fire at her, the teacher walked in and everyone took their seat.
"You're lucky this time Roberts. You won't be so luck next time."
Thankfully Samantha hasn't ever been violent with me. If she ever made the mistake of having to make her whipped up feud physical, I was going to throw any idea of me being a wolf in a human school out of the window. She was going to get exactly what she asked for.
