Stealthily creeping down the stairs, one step at a time, careful not to wake my family. A cold gust of air lapped my feet with each step I took, sending shivers down my spine as I made my way to the bathroom. Dim light poured into the kitchen from the dingy corridor that awaited. I took a deep breath and stepped forwards, slowly making my way closer and closer to that light, but I couldn't that feeling. The feeling that something else is there. Watching, waiting. Waiting for me to let my guard down.
I made my way to the back door and locked it quickly before rushing away, my legs tingling and arms shaking. I let out a sigh of relief before rushing back up the stairs. That feeling again. It felt as if something was following me, chasing me. My heart pounded as I flung open my door and slammed it shut again. My heart was pounding in my chest as I pressed my back against the door as if stopping something from entering my room.
Lights danced across the wall as I made my way to my bed and curled up, pressing my back against the wall. I took a deep breath, closing my eyes hoping sleep would come soon after. Sleep didn't come, only the intense feeling that something was next to me, watching me. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes.
