Before he could respond, Adriana appeared in the doorway, dressed in a long cashmere robe, her hair still damp from a shower.
“Sorry,” she said sweetly. “I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
“You’re not,” Julian said automatically.
Lexi turned and left without another word.
Later That Day – Julian’s Office
Adriana brought a tray of coffee to Julian’s office. “You’ve been working nonstop,” she said, setting it on the table beside him.
“Thanks.” Julian gave a small smile, though his mind clearly lingered on the earlier fight with Lexi.
Adriana sat in the chair across from him. “Rough morning?”

“She’s different from the women you used to date,” Adriana said carefully. “Fiery. Quick to anger.”
