Olivia pov
Following day and I'm feeling the check to the boards, my hip is now fully bruise I don't know what I did but I connected with the boards harder then I though. Placing ice on my hip I lay in bed reliefed Its Saturday and theres no lectures, I couldn't make it too my lecture if I did have one, laying in bed I scroll though the game stats looking at my performance trying to figure out what to do next time, I know the coach will go though all this with us but I like to look at my performance before the team does and watching my fight now I couldn't be more proud, I got a couple of punches in there before being pulled off. Dropping my head I pause the video needing a second.
me: I would love too, but I'm not the dine and wine type
Jayden: Betty's cafe tonight and her famous milkshakes?
me: Its a date
Smiling at my phone I don't know why I agreed to go on a date with the stranger that I met at the stadium but his blue eyes are capturing and how could I say no to him. Dropping my phones I take notes on my performance and everyone else, if I'm going to train a couple of freshmen after training then I need to know there strengths and weakness. Sitting with my laptop I don't do much work when i'm thinking about everything, i'm in my heads I don't know how long I been sat here but looking at the clock I finally get out of bed but before I had a chance to make it downstairs, Demi has sent me a link to a newspaper, wanting to ignore it, I instead open it and not at all surprised what I'm reading.
'our women hockey team had their first game of the season last night and it couldn't have gone any better with the final score reading three to nil but the score line isn't the highlight but what our captain Olivia did at the beginning of the third quarter was. After taking a cheap shot into the board she seconds later watches her freshmen team mate take a even worse cheap shot hitting the boards before hitting the ice, our captain climbs to her feet dropping her gloves before dropping her opponent and her wise words to our reporters was "what captain would I be if I didn't defend my team" there you have it, our captain Olivia defending her team and taking the penalty'
Reading the newspaper I cant help but laugh I would of done it for anyone but whats worse is the two photos they have, the first one be throwing a punch and the other one me smiling as the ref pushes me to the penalty box. I'm not going to be living that down, shaking my head I put my phone back in my pocket, I already know a lot of people read our colleges newspaper and whats worse is that the newspaper is even online for everyone. Sitting on one of the stools in my apartment I eat a bowel of fruit before getting ready for tonight, I'm not keen on the dating game around here but those blue eyes of Jayden didn't seem so bad when he bumped into me or when he payed for my dinner at Betty cafe. I wonder if he is the gentleman he tends to be or if its just an act. I don't know what's going to happened to me after college ends but maybe a last year college romance doesn't sound so bad. I get to live the full college life.
Jayden pov
Waking up the first thing I do is enter her name in her college website trying to find out everything about her, there is something about her that seems so familiar and I can't put my fingers on it. Clicking though everything i finally click on a video of her throwing hands with another player, looking at her fighting I couldn't be more proud as she stands up for her team. Looking at Olivia as she gets pushed away i only just notice the letter C on her jersey, what a captain she is, saving the video i now know she's not only has a foul mouth but she's a fiery little thing, she looks like one of the smallest but she can definitely look after herself. Placing my phone back in my pocket i head towards the shower trying to get ready in less then half an hour before leaving for training, being a professional hockey player isn't always fun and games as training is long and hard. Don't get me wrong i love being a hockey player, i just don't love the puck bunnies.
Entering the training grounds I have a huge smile on my face as Olivia has agreed to go out with me tonight, hopeful I can a learn a little more about the fire cracker. Walking into the changing room I haven't even put my bag down before everyone looking at me and wondering why I have a smile on my face again just before training when everyone's looking like they haven't slept
"What's got you in a good mood?" I hear the question being asked my way and the next thing I do is pull my phone out my back pocket and show them the fight I just watched of Olivia throwing hands, maybe they won't give me hassle now of being with a butch female hockey players as Olivia is a goddess even wearing her jersey which I wish was mine
"Damn that spitfire can fight, please tell me this is the girl you're on about" i nod to his question while everyone is cheering and smacking my shoulder, I have never had luck with female population but looking at this girl I already know she's different. She never asked for my autograph or asked for a photo which was quite weird as since I signed my first professional contract, everyone been asking for a photo or for me to sign there shirts. its just a relief to find someone who doesn't throw themselves at me like everyone else. Entering the ice I skate around for a bit needing to feel the ice under my feet, as I do a lap around the ice my eyes connect with the coaches and I already know this is going to be a long day, but nothing is going to put me in a foul mood as i'm looking forward to my date tonight with the only women who doesn't know who I am or doesn't care.
