Samantha looked in wonder at the man sitting in his office, Maximus Ford, when the old man suddenly placed a folder on the table in front of her.
They are at Maximus’ office now and Samantha just found out that the old man she thought was the Alpha of the GrandFord Pack is actually Maximus’ beta, Beta Henry.
She heard that the people in the GrandFord Pack are the only ones who know the physical appearance of Maximus. Despite his popularity, he has never appeared in the media and that’s why the rest of the pack are just making up different rumors about him, defaming.
Samantha looked at the old man and stutteringly asked, “What... what is that?”
“A marriage contract, Young Lady,” Beta Henry replied and smiled with full of humility.
Samantha froze, her mind trying to process what she had heard. What are they talking about?
Later Maximus stood up to approach Samantha which made her accidentally meet his cold and dark brown eyes. Her wolf’s tail began to wag for some reason and she felt confused. She was sure it was the exact feeling she had before.
Maximus, who was now towering over Samantha, turned his attention to her scarred arms. Samantha immediately placed her arms behind her to hide it. It was her scars she got from years of physical abuse by Mrs Lindsay.
“No wonder why his attention went to your stepsister,” he scoffed, blankly, which made her brows snap together.
Samantha stared up at him. “You have no rights to say such—”
“I have,” Maximus rebutted, cutting her off. “I didn’t spend ten billion to not own you?”
Samantha’s heart stung. Now, she won’t be surprise why her stepmother and stepsister grabbed the deal without a second thought. They must be drowning now in so much wealth.
Lucas and Lacey, on the other hand, must surely be having the sweetest moments of their lives now that they totally washed her out of their lives.
Samantha looked away. What was unacceptable for her is that she now losses the opportunity to present tomorrow her hard-earned designs to the attorney.
“If you are regretting for tomorrow’s selection, I suggest you stop,” Maximus said straight, causing Samantha to look at him.
“What do you mean?” Samantha asked.
Beta Henry handed another folder to Maximus from behind. He took it and handed it to her.
Samantha immediately opened it, she saw photos of the Carpenters Company production team with her stepsister and stepmother.
But what stopped Samantha was when she saw that her designs that she was just about to pass on to the attorney were now already in a massive production.
“Your stepsister copied your designs already and passed them to the attorney of your father, so now she’s the new CEO of Carpenters,” Maximus said, his dark brown eyes were fixed on hers.
Samantha didn’t move for a few seconds, she couldn’t take her eyes off Maximus. She knew this Alpha is a type of man who has lots of connections to investigate everything in just a snap. She don’t want to believe what he was saying but a whole part of her can’t deny the factness of his tone.
“In your current situation, you have more chance of being imprisoned than being selected as the new owner of the company,” Maximus added.
What Maximus said was painful but all of that was a big truth. Lacey already had claimed her hard-earned designs. If Maximus wouldn’t inform her and if it happens that she continue to participate in the selection of the Carpenters Company tomorrow, she will be accused of plagiarism and definitely will go to jail.
Between her and her stepsister, there is a greater possibility that everyone will believe Lacey more because she has a big name in the industry compared to her who is nothing.
On the other hand, Maximus stared at Samantha’s eyes. Noticing how the sorrow and bitterness glinted all at once on her, he spoke. “I will give you security and all from those who wronged you and make you the CEO of GoldNova Group.” He paused for a moment, catching her attention.
The Alpha will make her the CEO of the GoldNova Group? Samantha froze on her spot. What she heard seemed to take her to impossible dream for a moment. She never thought that she would become a CEO of such big company.
“...just marry me and be my Luna,” Maximus quickly added, the corner of his lips quirked up. “That’s my condition.”
Samantha blinked twice, thrice. First of all, she couldn’t understand why this Alpha billionaire agreed to buy a woman like her, and now he was planning to make her his Luna?
“How do you think I am worthy of that?” Samantha couldn’t stop herself from asking. She knows how bad her social status is and that is also the reason why Lucas chose to marry Lacey rather than her who is his true mate. So, why this man would waste his time for her?
“Let me clear this up to you,” he said seriously, letting out a small sigh. “My father warned me that he will take half of my inheritance if until now I have not presented a Luna for my pack.”
Beta Henry handed the marriage contract to Samantha and then Maximus spoke again. “Rest assured that this is just nothing but a business arrangement between us.”
Samantha attention dropped to the contents of the contract. It states exactly what he told her. She turned back her gaze to him.
Maximus then fixed his eyes on her. “You will be the new owner of GoldNova Group only if you agree to be my Luna,” he stated, his voice was deep. “The choice is yours.”
The seriousness of his face sent shivers through Samantha’s entire being. On the other hand, she doesn’t know what kind of feeling flowed through her body with the thought of being the new owner of GoldNova. But in her mind, she’s seeing one thing. To start to own her name in the business of fashion designing.
There, Samantha looked at Maximus again as she nodded. “I will accept it.”
