He studied her plain clothes, her tied‑back hair, and her quiet presence that seem almost invisible. “You’re eating properly, right?” he asked in a voice low and almost hesitant. “You don’t skip meals just because you’re busy here.” Elise’s lips curved faintly though the smile didn’t reach her eyes. “I manage.” Kurt frowned and then he shook his head. “That’s not an answer.
