Silas POV Cold. All I can feel as I lie on the ground, the snow slowly seeping into my skin and bones, is just cold and despair. My mind is racing with a thousand thoughts a second, trying to work out where everything went wrong. I had found my mate strengthened my pack and used my bonds to help make my territory safe, and yet here I am dying at the hands of the person that I was supposed to love with everything that they are, my soulmate. I cannot pinpoint exactly when everything went wrong, when I lost my power, respect, and the loyalty of my pack, for what I do know was it all started five months ago when I found my mate. At first glance, Sarah was everything that she appeared to be; she pretended to be weak and vulnerable, playing on mine and Fenrir’s innate desire to protect and cherish her due to the mating bond. How were we supposed to know that instead of being our salvation, she was our doom? Sarah is currently standing over me, a dagger in her hand that she used to just slip my throat, but due to my wolf's healing, my death is taking longer than she wants. Instead of looking worried and concerned, she is looking at me, smirking, the light in her eyes, making me, an alpha wolf, tremble in fear at what might come next from this woman. “Don't worry, my darling Alpha,” Sarah says, with a sickening sweet tone in her voice, “ I will make sure to take care of the pack for you, at least those that are still standing.” Before another word can be uttered, a shadow detaches itself from the tree line and stalks towards us, at first I think it may be salvation, but then I realize that it is James Sarah's right-hand man. “Why?” I choke out, blood dripping from my mouth, but my mind and heart still want to believe that this is all simply just a nightmare. “What do you think of the bond that I created for the two of you? Work of a masterpiece, isn't it?” James asks in a taunting voice, and the realization of the treachery and the deception upon which I had found myself falling into, fills me with despair. As my life drains from my body and darkness fills my vision, I find my mind reaching out towards the one person who may be able to help me. In my last few seconds of life, I send a pleading message to the moon goddess, moon goddess, I have served you, protected my pack, and for everything that is right within this world, and yet I fall to the evil that has been put into my path. I beseech you, moon goddess, please help me to save my pack, help me to live once again. Please, just give me justice. Please give me a second chance to find my true mate and my happiness. A few miles away in the local village, a young girl by the name of Lyra shudders awake, a feeling of dread lingering in her mind of the nightmare that she had just witnessed. Little does she know that the nightmare that she witnessed in her dreams was actually something she had witnessed in her previous life. It is both a warning and a hope of a soul lingering in the past, the moon goddess sending her this Vision to not only help Silas avoid his fate but also for Lyra to avoid a similar one.
