Eliza and Dakota had crossed the border into Mexico without incident. They got the green light at the aduana while driving Dakota's coup and cautiously pulled onto the worn street greeting them into Ciudad Juárez. Eliza had heard of Ciudad Juárez and México in the news throughout the years. Nothing good was ever said in those snippets of commentary overlaid onto video, but she didn't see anything dangerous in the people driving along on the chaotic roads or along the street fronts of shoe stores, pharmacies, and bakeries perched up next to each other like ladies in a church pew. It was like a never ending strip mall. The mishmash of storefronts were broken apart only by the cross streets and the occasional oddly placed residence.
