I didn’t sleep through out the night, I kept replaying the conversation I had with Audrey and what happened between my mother. I wanted to surprise Audrey. I wanted to go to the apartment but he offered to pick me but I didn’t want to risk it. I didn’t want him seeing my mother. I didn’t want them to meet.
I left work and told Kevin to close up early and take the rest of the day off. The restaurant wasn’t busy much so since I’m taking a day off, I thought everyone should also have the rest of the day off.
I arrived at Audrey’s apartment and the door was unlocked as usual and the passage outside was full of boxes, furniture, cans of paint, brushes and sheets of plastic. He was obviously playing home improvement again. I just hoped he was wearing slightly more than before.
