I admire the curve of his pink lips and the crinkle of his eyes. It's an odd but pleasant sight seeing him happy and it makes my stomach clench in a way I've never felt before. I wish I could feel it more. He seems to notice my gaze because his head snaps in my direction. We hold eye contact for a second before I turn to Maya, who watched the entire interaction with a knowing smirk.
