The sound was faint barely even there. I sat up looking around to find that someone had left their jacket on my desk chair. The smell of sea water was coming off of it. I sat up going for my gun to find that it was gone. I reached behind the headboard taking the small handgun from the holster I had stashed back there. I got up and slowly made my way into the living room. The smell only got stronger. Someone had decided to go for a swim and had come to trail water into my apartment.
"You are a heavy sleeper. I don't know how I didn't notice that before," I let out a sigh putting the gun down.
"How did you get past my security system?" she laughed.
"Fancy but motion detectors are much more sufficient. Not the laser kind either. Those are super obvious,"
