“Seriously though, overpopulation is a huge problem and one of the biggest threats to this planet and the survival of the human species and many other species,” Emerald said. “It took humans over a million years to reach a billion people on this earth, and now, we are at about 10 times that amount in only a couple hundred years. That’s insane. We shouldn’t be adding a billion people to the population every 10 years. That’s careless and immoral. What are we a virus? A plague?”
“Unbelievable,” Eric said.
“That’s crazy,” Mary said. “I think the mortality rate is increasing too though, and the population is supposed to start declining or remaining stable.”
