Davin grimaced.
“I didn’t want it to happen this way; I wanted it to be special,” he said, running his hand through his hair.
“Me too, but it is what it is. We don’t have time.”
We had both wasted time, Davin rejecting me when we met and me taking time to admit my feelings. While it seemed like unnecessary strife and drama, I got the feeling that our relationship would be much stronger for it. There was no doubt in either of our minds that we wanted to be together.
