Chapter 18Benjamin opened his eyes and blinked. A couple of things hit him at the same time. The first thing that came to his mind was that he was currently lying down on a mattress that was firm yet comfortable and soft enough for him to rest on. He was inside a spacious bedroom that wasn’t familiar to him. It was quite dark inside the bedroom, but there was ample light streaming in through the cracks in between the curtains. The second thing was the feeling of astonishment that slammed into him at the realization that he had actually somehow managed to doze off inside Eric’s car the previous evening. Eric must have carried him all the way from the car into the bedroom.
“What time is it?” Benjamin mumbled to himself as he darted his eyes all over the room in search of a clock on the wall
