Chapter 21Several days had passed since Inge’s appearance, and Eric was frankly relieved to note that Benjamin seemed to be much more cheerful. “You’re looking much better now.”
“Thanks,” Benjamin said. “I’ve promised myself that I won’t let my past affect my future. At least not indefinitely. Can’t change the past anyway.”
Eric nodded. “True.”
It was his day off, and he and Benjamin were eating ice cream as they strolled along Central Park. The weather that afternoon wasn’t as chilly as the ones in the previous days so he wasn’t surprised to discover that there were many people at the park.
“I have a strong feeling that I’ll be encountering my last two murderers soon,” Benjamin announced out of the blue before slurping gently on his ice cream.
