Chapter 2

"Strange, why is he walking around like that? What a waste of energy." Sarah said as she watched her brother pacing near the window. "He's supposed to be reading a book, learning about war strategies, it's not time to rest yet. Did he find the material difficult to learn? That's why he was pacing like that?" Sarah was still muttering, looking at her brother who was still pacing incoherently. Moments later, Kenway realized Sarah was watching him. But he chose not to pay much attention to her and continued to walk back and forth, eager to get out of the library room he was growing tired of. Kenway couldn't stand it anymore, so without saying a word, he opened a nearby window and took a few steps away. "Prince, what are you doing?" The nearby servants were confused when they saw Kenway walking backward as if taking a position. Kenway just looked at the servant in silence. He was preparing to jump out the second-story window. It was about seven meters above the ground, quite high. When Sarah saw what her brother was doing, she stood up and asked. "Brother, what are you doing? Why are you walking backward?" Sarah was confused, tilting her head slightly. Kenway turned around and looked at Sarah and said, "Sarah, don't tell Mom. I promise to teach you how to ride if you keep your mouth shut." Kenway smiled, then looked at the servants, who were also confused about what Kenway would do. "You keep your mouths shut, too!" Kenway began to jog slowly towards the window, which was about three meters away directly in front of him. "Sarah, I'm going now. Okay, finish your reading." Kenway said as he ran. "What are you doing... uh, don't jump out the window, you'll get hurt!" Sarah looked frantically at her brother as he ran toward the window. "Prince, don't jump out the window!" "Be careful, Prince Kenway!" "Don't be reckless!" The servants said in turn as they watched Kenway about to leap over the window. "You're all too loud!" Kenway said, then jumped out of the window, which was about twenty feet high. He smiled broadly as his body fell from that height. Kenway's body descended from the top to the bottom very quickly, so he had to think fast as well to prepare for the landing. In the air, Kenway tensed his leg muscles to support his weight when he landed. He set up the best stance he knew. After falling and floating in the air for a few seconds, both of Kenway's feet hit the ground simultaneously. His body bent slightly and his right palm touched the ground. He could feel pain in his ankle bones. "Damn, there was a slight technical mistake. My right foot should have been slightly forward. My foot hurts." Kenway muttered to himself, ignoring the pain in his ankle. Although there was a slight technical error in the landing, Kenway still managed to land safely after jumping more than seven meters, thanks to the stance technique he had learned from who knows who. "Sarah, I'm going to sword practice first, I'm tired of studying in the library, see you later!" Half shouting, Kenway said as he looked up at Sarah, who was already looking down from the upper window where Kenway had jumped earlier. "I don't want to know, if mom finds out, I don't want to get involved!" Sarah replied, slightly annoyed at her twins. Kenway didn't seem to care about Sarah's ramblings, instead, he walked away and then slowly ran towards the field where the commander was training his men in sword techniques. Sarah let out a long sigh, unable to understand her brother's behavior. "Hufft... he's annoying." Sarah held her forehead. "What shall we do now, Princess? Shall we report to the Queen?" Said one of the maids, who was also confused. "No, don't report it to mom. It's okay," said Sarah. The purpose of Sarah saying this is not to protect Kenway from her mother's wrath, but she was trying to think about what Kenway had said before she jumped out the window. Kenway said that she would teach Sarah to ride a horse if she would keep her mouth shut and not report him to her mother. Sarah had always wanted to ride a horse, but she rarely visited the stables because her mother forbade it. Sarah was very fond of the horse, she was very curious about what it felt like to ride a horse. For sixteen years of her life, Sarah never had the opportunity to ride a horse, even though she was born into a royal family that had hundreds of horses. Queen Veronica only wanted Sarah to be a feminine and authoritative princess. She thought that if she gave Sarah free rein, she might end up going to the stables instead of studying in the library. Queen Veronica also knew of Sarah's obsession with horses. At the palace altar, the king and queen still sat patiently waiting for the advisor who never came. They were still busy talking about their children. They argued a bit about the queen's education, which the king thought was too strict. "You shouldn't have given them too strict rules, to the point of having to make a schedule of activities, isn't that too much?" The king said while looking at Kenway and Saha's activity schedule sheet. The queen made an annoyed face as she looked at her husband, she replied, "I did it so that they would be more disciplined and be able to use their time to develop their potential." "Two hours of study in the library, riding practice, public speaking practice, sword practice from the afternoon until late at night..." The king shifted his gaze from the paper to the queen's face. "Isn't it all too much, especially for Kenway?" "I don't think so, he's the one who wants to increase his sword training, he's excited when he does sword and riding training." "Hmm... is that so?" The king nodded his head, indicating that he had just heard what his wife had said. King Joel was happy to hear that his son was excited about sword training, as he had expected. "By the way, why isn't there a riding schedule for Sarah? Isn't she very fond of horses, she's old enough to ride a horse." The king continued to complain. "If we let her ride, Sarah will be too lazy to study in the library and prefer to visit the stables." said the queen. Not long after, the person who had been waiting for them finally arrived. A man in his thirties entered the royal altar, accompanied by two bodyguards on his left and right. This person was the royal advisor named Gustav. After holding the tip of his mustache, he knelt before the king and queen to pay his respects. A few seconds later, King Joel told Gustav to get up. "Your Majesty, I am here to give you a letter of invitation from Havana," Gustav said politely. "Letter of invitation?" King Joel frowned. "I thought you came to bring me a file of reports on our kingdom's economic cooperation with Havana." Gustav shook his head, he didn't know about that. "I don't know, Your Majesty, King Bara, the leader of the Havana Kingdom, just gave me an invitation envelope without giving me any explanation," Gustav explained the details. King Joel had not expected to receive an invitation from Havana. Still, this morning he was expecting a report with data on corn and wheat stocks in Havana so that he would know how much the wheat and corn stocks had diminished so that he could immediately send aid, as discussed in the meeting a few weeks ago in the royal conference room in Havana. "Did he cancel the cooperation plan between the Kingdom of the Sun and Havana?" King Joel looked angry. "How dare the crisis-ridden kingdom reject my offer?" He continued. "Haha... I didn't expect him to give me this letter of invitation either." Gustav laughed awkwardly as he handed over a white envelope with a red wax stamp in the center of the flap. King Joel opened the envelope and read the letter carefully. "Damn, the drunken king sent me an invitation to the tea party." King Joel said after reading the contents of the letter. Queen Veronica held her head in astonishment at the lack of seriousness in the Havana Kingdom's cooperation. "King Bara has never taken this sort of thing seriously from the beginning." The queen complained. Gustav looked at King Joel, then asked. "Would you like to attend the tea party in Havana?" Without answering his advisor's question, the king stood up and said loudly. "This afternoon, prepare the carriage, provisions, and other equipment. Tomorrow we leave for Havana."
