Then Kenway walked toward the meadow where the soldiers were practicing. His silver hair was loose, blowing in the wind. He adjusted his collar as he walked upright. In his mind, he was already thinking about what he was going to do. His lips were smiling, eager to have fun swinging the sword at the strongest soldier.
The commander was still watching his men from the edge of the training ground, fully concentrated. However, the commander's attention to his men was distracted when Kenway suddenly tapped him on the shoulder.
"Prince Kenway?!" The commander was a little surprised when he looked at Kenway.
"..." Kenway remained silent. He stood next to the commander.
"Why are you here, shouldn't you be studying in the library?"
"I'm bored in the library, my hands are itching to practice sword techniques." While saying this, Kenway looked straight at the soldiers who were practicing with their respective partners. He seemed to be analyzing.
Seeing Kenway next to him, the commander felt uneasy. He was worried in case the king and queen suddenly come to the training ground to make a surprise inspection, as they usually did. It could be serious if they both knew that the prince was on the training ground.
"Hmm... Prince, shouldn't you stay in the library until the study time is over?"
"..." Kenway said nothing, still staring in the same direction.
"We'll all get the queen's wrath if you get caught here." The commander looked uncomfortable standing next to Kenway. His palms were clasped together, occasionally rubbing against each other. The commander made erratic movements to show his nervousness.
Kenway walked on, keeping his eyes on one of the soldiers. Kenway smiled, feeling that the soldier was the strongest of the others. His body was tall, his muscles looked muscular despite the long sleeves. The way he swung his wooden sword at the enemy looked tight and very practiced.
Kenway casually made his way to the place where the soldier's equipment was placed, there were shields, knee guards, head guards, and wooden swords. He looked at the equipment and then decided to pick up a wooden sword.
His right hand held the blade, while his left hand held the bottom end that was used as a hilt. "Alright, I'll use this one." Kenway straightened his wooden sword by pointing the blade upwards, then slashed it lightly into the air. Kenway then walked over to the soldier-commander, still carrying the wooden sword.
The commander still looked worriedly at Kenway as he walked toward him with the wooden sword. "Pa-prince, are you sure you want to join the sword training?" The commander turned his head from side to side, scanning the area in case the king and queen suddenly appeared.
"Never mind, Commander, no need to make such a worried face..." Kenway patted the commander's shoulder, "Instead, you should allow me to spar with one of your strongest soldiers." He continued.
"Prince, this is not the time for you to spar, you still need to practice some more techniques. If you are reckless and act carelessly, you could get hurt." The commander tried to warn Kenway out of concern.
Kenway stepped forward slightly, taking some distance from the commander. He kept his eyes on the soldier he was about to duel. The tall, muscular soldier finally managed to knock his training opponent down. The soldier then pointed the wooden sword he was holding at his opponent. Kenway smiled, sure that this time he hadn't made a mistake in his choice of sparring partner.
His feet slowly stepped forward, both hands gripping the wooden sword tightly, Kenway prepared to moan at the soldier of his choice from the edge of the training ground. His steps became faster and faster, his smile widened, and he was very excited.
The soldier commander, who was still standing at the edge of the field, was about to warn Kenway again not to join the training with the soldiers, let alone sparring, the commander did not fully believe in Kenway's abilities. But he decided against it because he knew that Kenway wouldn't listen to his warnings and would continue to do as he pleased; Kenway is stubborn.
"It's useless for me to warn Prince Kenway, he's so stubborn." The soldier-commander scratched the back of his head. "Looks like my salary is in danger." He continued with a smile as he looked at Kenway, who was now slowly running to attack one of the soldiers.
The tall and muscular soldier had not yet noticed that Kenway was about to attack him from behind. The soldier appeared to extend his right hand to the partner he had just defeated in a sparring match, both smiling at each other. A few moments later, however, the expression on the partner's face in front of him changed instantly as he saw Kenway floating in the air while posing to attack the tall and muscular soldier from behind. "Look out, behind you!" his partner said with a low yell.
The tall, muscular warrior's eyes suddenly became piercing, his instincts activated, and he sensed that someone was about to attack him from behind.
Without hesitation, Kenyaw slashed at the tall, muscular warrior's back with his wooden sword. But the attack was successfully deflected by the wooden sword. With ease, Kenyaw's target was able to quickly turn around and protect himself with the wooden sword. Kenway smiled, "How quickly he turned. Kenway said to himself.
As soon as his feet landed on the grass, Kenway immediately launched his next attack. He swung the wooden sword again. This time, Kenway aimed at his opponent's waist, but the attack meant nothing to the tough warrior. Once again, Kenway's attack was successfully parried.
"That's great, looks like I didn't pick the wrong opponent." Kenway smiled, then continued to attack the top, and again the attack was successfully blocked. Their wooden swords were now pressed together, pressing hard against each other.
"What is your name?" Kenway asked.
"Radek, Prince." The tall, muscular soldier gave his name.
The commander, who had been watching the situation in the training area from where he stood, seemed to be holding his forehead. "The prince has chosen the wrong opponent. Radek is one of the strongest soldiers, why did he choose him instead? This is bad."
With his heart full of worry, the commander walked quickly to the training ground so that he could see Prince Kenway and Radek, or rather so that his voice could be heard by the people over there because he wanted to tell Radek something.
"Radek, don't take Prince Kenway too seriously, he's a rookie and still has a lot to learn."
Radek looked at the commander in silence, then nodded and focused on Kenway, preparing for the next attack.
"Don't listen to what the commander just said, fight me with everything you've got." Kenway challenged, smiling confidently.
"But Prince, if anything happens to you, I will be severely punished," Radek said, he didn't seem as relaxed as before, he started to worry because he realized that he was just a common soldier, he could be fired from his job if he accidentally hurt Prince Kenway.
"Never mind, don't worry, I'm not that weak, don't underestimate me!" Kenway strengthened his stance and prepared to attack. "Take it easy, you won't be fired just for hurting me, if you don't fight me seriously, you will be the one who will be beaten and I will fire you myself."
Hearing what Prince Kenway said to him, Radek, the strongest soldier, was speechless. Then he distanced himself and took a few steps back. Radek smiled and prepared to attack Kenway.
"Very well, Prince, I will fight you with all my might."
The two of them prepared to attack each other, both Kenway and Radek looking serious as they prepared to swing their swords. The soldiers in the training area began to stop, making room for Kenway and Radek to spar freely.
The atmosphere around them was tense, the soldiers talking to each other in low voices, talking about Radek and Prince Kenway. Some were also betting.
The wind was warm, ruffling Kenway's long silver hair, which glistened slightly in the sunlight. Under the bright blue sky, the battle between the prince and the strongest soldier of the Sun Kingdom had begun.
