Roxie and May finally reached the apartment provided by Henry. The unfamiliar man, Eli, resting on his shoulder, took the key to the apartment and assisted them in settling in. After organizing their belongings, Roxie asked May to take the boys to their room and stay with them for a while. Understanding the imminent conversation, May whispered, "Go easy on him." Roxie forced a smile and shifted her attention to the unfamiliar man. She massaged her forehead and sighed. Moving closer to the stranger, she began, "Henry did..." But she was abruptly interrupted. "Roxie, I know you're upset, and I get it. I shouldn't have used the fiancé word, but…" She cut in, "You had to be my knight in shining armor," illustrating with her hands. "The hero of the day, right?" She pulled up her blouse.
