Roxie’s POV
His kiss always sent chills down my spine. I loved his touch and his gaze.
It never lied. He wanted me as much as I wanted him.
He cupped my cheeks in his palms and raised my chin to face him. He stared into my eyes and smiled. “I am sorry for being so late,” he said softly.
I bit my lower lip and hid my blushing face. Pushing off his hand, I awkwardly asked, “Can we head to the bed?”
He smiled with his eyes. I took the lead but was suddenly carried from behind by him, thrown over his shoulder.
My legs rested against his chest, my head on his back. “Evans, what do you think you’re doing?”
“Taking you to bed.”
“Huh! Hey, put me down!”
“Okay,” he said, dropping me onto the bed and climbing on top of me.
