The chatter in our surroundings was an indication that everyone was having a pretty good time. Everyone but me. It wasn’t that I wasn’t having a good time, it wasn’t that I was remembering Adam and mourning the fact that he wasn’t my groom; I wasn’t having a good time because my brain was still processing that kiss with James. Up until now, it still said: Error. “Don’t worry,” he whispered to me, when my face was just a few inches from his, “I’ll make this memorable. More than just picture worthy.” And when his lips met mine, I had to shiver from the electric current that went through my body. The feel of his lips, the feel of his body so close to mine brought shivers down my spine. It was the first time in my existence that I felt a kiss like that. Kisses with Adam was never like that
