CHAPTER 11
Zach pulled the covers high over his head. He had no idea what that godawful sound was, but it needed to stop. For f**k’s sake, he didn’t know what time it was, but it couldn’t be more than an hour since he and Lake had finally felt satiated enough to sleep.
The sound came again, and Zach realized two things at once. The sound that woke him was someone pounding on the door, and second, Lake also woke and was now pulling on his pants, so he could answer it.
Zach pulled the covers down and looked to see the sun wasn’t even up yet. Who the hell...? s**t, what if something was wrong? What if someone needed help?
