Chapter 6

This morning I decided to stop by Matilda's dorm room and say hi. We spoke for a while and I decided to tell her that I was participating in the clash . She seemed astonished at first but at the end she encouraged me and also warned me to be careful. On my way back to my dorm room I ran into Athena who seemed in quite a rush . " Hi Athena, why in such a rush?" I said , " ohh hii, nothing I'm just uhh.... I'll see you later Serena" Athena said and rushed into her dorm room. That was very suspicious, I should follow her and ask. I knocked on her dorm room door and luckily she opened, " What's going on Athena" I asked as she opened the door , " come in, I'll explain everything" Athena answered. She explained that she discovered more about what happened in the last clash but she was too afraid to say anything before . It turns out that Lord Bullard couldn't have poisoned the animals, he arrived at the arena pretty late , so it was probably someone else that poisoned the beasts and framed him . Also , there's no evidence that Lord Kingston was the one who poisoned the animals because according to those who witnessed the fight , the arena got pretty foggy after a while so no one could see anything until it cleared up and Lord Kingston was declared winner. Basically, no one knows what happened in the fog but there's no prove that he cheated though. " Why didn't you tell us sooner then?" I asked and she explained that she didn't want us worrying because this all means that we can't tell who the real villain is. I told her that I'll be careful during the clash and I if I see anything I'll tell her .

Talking about the clash , it's next week and I'm pretty anxious. I've prepared a lot for it and I know Haven has tried his best to teach me everything I need to know so I'm confident in my chances of success. Meanwhile , Athena is working tirelessly to c***k the case and I trust that she eventually will after all , she's from the quartz division and they're the most intelligent clan. By the way , I'm thinking of going to see Elder Elizabeth later today, she witnessed the last clash so she can tell me how it's done and j knows what to expect.

School will we closing officially this week so students can go home for the long vacation. I can't wait to see my parents, it's been quite long since we last met, I also miss my mother's home made meals and her famous apple pie that no one can resist. Just thinking about it has my mouth watering. Anyway I finally learnt how to float like Haven was doing that evening, he told me he didn't want me to tell anyone because it's for advanced learners only and that only few people in the clan have mastered it . He also said it should only be used during emergency and it's kept confidential so trainees don't misuse it.
