Chapter 2

Nora's POV I tossed around on the bed, groaning as I sat up. I rubbed my eyes as a sharp pain shot through my lower body. I parted my eyes open sluggishly as I yawned. I scratched my head, smacking my lips. “What happened?” I pulled the sheets, looking underneath. My eyes widened in shock. “I'm naked!” I turned to my side, my breath hitching in my throat. Th… this isn't Jason? My head ached as memories of last night flooded my mind all at once like a raging tornado. Holy s**t. I had a one night stand with a stranger! I slipped out of bed, throwing my clothes on as I searched for my phone hurriedly. The familiar notification sound caught my attention. I rummaged through the man's clothes, picking out my phone. My eyes froze at the notifications which filled my screen. So many missed calls from Jason and Amber. They must be so worried. I went to the bed side, taking a picture of the sleeping stranger. “Now, I can easily avoid you if we ever meet. Dear Lord, I hope he doesn't remember me.” I tiptoed out of the room, putting on my shoes. I had to find Amber and Jason. I walked through the halls, my fingers playing with each other nervously. Each step felt heavy as my mind reeled back to last night. Should I tell Jason? Maybe he'd understand me, right? I rubbed my forehead as I walked out of the lodging area. It was my first time. He's always wanted to be my first. Telling him I gave it to a stranger because I was drunk and thought it was him doesn't really sound good. But I don't want to lie to him. “Nora!” Jason yelled from behind, disrupting my thoughts. I paused, dragging the sleeves of my shirt and arranging my collar. I couldn't let him see the love marks left by the stranger. I turned, forcing a smile as I threw myself into his arms. “My darling.” His expression turned dark as he arched a brow. “Where were you? I was so worried something happened to you.” “Nora,” Amber called from the side as she approached us. “Where did you go last night? I was worried sick.” As I parted my lips to respond, my eyes widened as I caught sight of Jason's bandaged hands. “W… what happened to you?” “It's nothing…” he sighed. “He got hurt while fighting off those men who harassed us,” Amber said, rubbing my shoulders. He got hurt protecting me, and me? I go and get knocked up by a total stranger. I can't tell him the truth. It'll crush him. I took his hand, tears stinging at the corner of my eyes. “I'm so sorry.” “Hey, it's ok,” he purred, wrapping me in a gentle embrace. “As long as you're safe, that's all that matters.” Amber rolled her eyes, shrugging her shoulders. “Let's hurry and get ready for college. We can't be late on our first day.” …***... I carefully twisted the knob of my frontdoor, trying my best to steady my breathing. I closed the door, sighing in relief as it didn't make a sound. I tiptoed to the stairs, a victorious smile curling my lips. A familiar sharp voice shot from the stairs above. “b***h. Where are you coming from?” I groaned in frustration as I fixed my gaze on her. “Good morning to you too, sister.” Angel shrugged her shoulders, coming down the stairs. “I'm definitely not related to a home wrecker's daughter.” I scoffed. “Likewise.” “You were not permitted to leave. Where did you go?” I folded my arms. “Guess what. I'm nineteen. One year past adulthood. You can't tell me what I can and cannot do.” “You're under my roof…” “Wrong,” I cut in, my fingers clenching into balls. “This house belonged to my mother. Just because that disgrace of a father was stupid enough to give it to you, doesn't mean it's yours legally. I still have the inheritance documents. I advise you to watch your words.” I ignored her yelling, pushing past her and walked up the stairs. I slammed my door shut, taking off my clothes as I threw myself into the bathroom. The cold water cascaded over my body as I delved deep in thought. Images from last night replaying in my mind. I sighed deeply, running my hands through my hair. “Why can't I stop thinking about him?” It was a mistake. Never meant to happen. I shouldn't even think about that bastard. He took advantage of my drunken state. I should definitely sue him. But if I do, everyone's going to know. Ugh! “Calm down, Nora,” I muttered, trying to give myself assurance as I began scrubbing my body. “It was just one time. You'll never see him again, right? Besides, it's not like I'm going to get pregnant or anything…” I froze, my eyes widening as the sponge fell from my hand. My heart throbbed as my chest heaved. “Holy sh!t. He didn't use protection.”
