The Preamble

While chaos is visible around the world, like most teenagers Amanda flourished in her little bubble of "ignorance is bliss" more concerned with her social status and of course, what can only be described today as teenage fever. She was still upset with Clarice, her mother who had in her opinion kidnapped her to a weekend at the cabin. She would rather be with her friends dancing the night away than be cooped up in their father's cabin.
"Clarice, there's no cell reception here, What am i supposed to do now!" Amanda yelled at her mom. Clarice clearly day dreaming staring at the wall did not respond. On her desk were disorganized blueprints and on the wall hundreds if not thousands of sticky notes and collages.
Amanda seeing her mother disoriented by her work stormed past her and before slamming the door to her room yelled " You never pay attention to me, I wanna get emancipated!" she then jumped on her bed squeezing her favourite stuffed teddybear close to her chest.
The door slamming startled Clarice who was lost in her thoughts.
She took off her glasses and placed it on top of the coffee table and walked towards the door, she tried to go in Amanda's room but the door was locked.
"Honey" she called out, you could feel the destress in her voice. "Open the door, i need to talk to you" Amanda clearly hearing her mother's voice grabs her airpods and turns on her music. she then yells "I'm not listening Clarice!"
They say time is like a fickle mistress, we all have it but can never get a hold of it and only when we loose it do we truly ever cherish it.
Amanda suddenly noticed the door hinge stopped moving, thinking she won this round she took off her airpods, not knowing her life was about to change forever.Her journey was about to begin and what was in store for her was far much greater than her next post update, she would have no option but to rise the occasion, lives depended on it.
