Outside the Destroy Steele Group, Bob saw Emily walking out of the building, looking dejected. He clapped his hands on his thighs, laughing maniacally, "She didn't even last three minutes! This is hilarious, hahaha!"
But the next second, Bob's laughter abruptly stopped as if someone had squeezed his throat tightly, his face turning red.
He saw a large group of imposing senior executives from the Destroy Steele Group rushing out. They all lined up in front of Emily, sweating profusely and looking panicked.
Emily was confused and just stood there. Suddenly, the two rows of men and women bowed at a ninety-degree angle in unison, shouting, "Welcome, Miss. Emily Foster, for business negotiations. Please come inside with us!!"
This scene startled Emily. Bob, who was beside the car, was also stunned and speechless.
Emily, feeling dazed, pointed at herself and asked, "Are you referring to me as Emily Foster?"
"Yes, Miss. Foster. Please, come back with us. If we don't bring you back, we'll lose our jobs!" pleaded a bald, chubby middle-aged man.
Emily recognized him; he had appeared on television before. He was the Vice President of the Destroy Steele Group. She never expected such a high-ranking person to bow and plead in front of her, looking like they couldn't survive if she didn't agree.
In fact, these executives were also bewildered. Just a few minutes ago, the receptionist told them she had just turned away a woman named "Emily Foster" from Joyland Realty. Their current Chairman, Drake, suddenly flew into a rage.
He checked the surveillance footage and, upon seeing that the receptionist had turned Emily away, his expression turned murderous.
The receptionist was so terrified that she sat down on the floor, wetting her pants. Following that, an urgent order spread throughout the company. All managers and above had to line up outside to welcome Miss. Emily Foster back. If they failed, they would all be fired!
This terrified them. They had taken a big risk by resigning from their previous positions at the Steele family business. If they were dismissed now, they would never find such good jobs again. Thus, the scene unfolded as it did.
"I... I understand. I'll go back in with you," Emily said nervously. Being invited by so many prominent figures who had appeared on television and magazine covers made her feel overwhelmed and out of sorts.
With these top executives of Wyndcrest's business community escorting her, Emily returned to the Destroy Steele Group.
Bob, having regained his composure, shouted angrily, "That damned woman, that b***h! How does she deserve such a grand welcome from so many top executives? That slut must have used some underhanded means!"
Bob was almost driven mad with jealousy. But then his eyes lit up with a plan to steal the results of this negotiation.
Inside the Destroy Steele Group, Emily saw the receptionist who had been fired, crying as she packed her things. She wanted to ask what was happening when suddenly a tall, imposing man approached her and said, "Hello, Miss. Foster. I'm Drake."
"Ah?!" Emily screamed, too shocked to speak. She never expected to meet the Chairman of the Destroy Steele Group as soon as she entered the building! The Destroy Steele Group was the entity that had bankrupted the Steele family. As the Chairman, Drake must be a terrifying figure.
But now, this terrifying figure was not only standing in front of her but also being so respectful. She felt like she was dreaming. Suddenly, she remembered what Jack had told her last night, that not only would she enter the Destroy Steele Group, but she would also be treated as a VIP.
'Could it be… No way! Jack was just a recently discharged soldier, apart from boasting, he had no real skills. How could he know someone as powerful as Drake? It must be a coincidence! Drake must have other reasons for treating me this way, reasons I hadn't figured out yet.'
Lost in her thoughts, Emily mustered up the courage to express her intention to cooperate with the Destroy Steele Group and revealed her company's current loss situation.
She originally thought Drake would refuse to cooperate with her. Unexpectedly, Drake laughed heartily, "Miss. Foster, in this business environment full of lies, your honesty is extremely valuable. Rest assured; our group will cooperate with your company. We have a memorial park project that might interest you."
Memorial park? Emily was stunned, followed by an intense shock! The memorial park was a large green space project planned by the Wyndcrest government on the outskirts of the city. Previously, the Steele family had spent a whole 10 million dollars to secure this project. It was estimated that once completed, the project could earn at least 100 million dollars!
Drake directly handed such a large project over to Emily. She felt like she was dreaming!
To assure Emily, Drake immediately asked his secretary to bring the relevant contract to her. Emily read it several times carefully, confirming there were no issues with the contract, and finally agreed, still in a daze.
"That's wonderful. Please come back tomorrow at 8 am with your company's seal to sign the formal agreement. Let's end today's meeting here, shall we?" Drake worried that continuous excitement might overwhelm Emily and suggested she take some time to adjust.
Emily felt the need to calm down and agreed. After leaving the company, she got back into Bob's car. Bob, burning with jealousy, forced a fake smile and started probing about what had happened inside. When Emily said the cooperation project was the memorial park, he was so shocked that he almost drove into a ditch.
Bob dropped Emily off at home and immediately rushed to the family's mansion to put his plan into action. "Grandma, something terrible!" He rushed inside frantically.
"What's wrong? Why are you in such a hurry?" Ladyship Foster, sunbathing, frowned at her grandson's abrupt entrance.
"Grandma, that crazy girl went to the Destroy Steele Group to discuss cooperation, not only did she fail, but she also offended the people there!" Bob pretended to be alarmed.
"What?!" Ladyship Foster slammed her hand on the armrest and stood up.
Bob seized the opportunity to tell the pre-fabricated story, bringing in someone to testify to make it more believable.
If Emily were present, she would recognize the person immediately—the recently fired receptionist from Destroy Steele! The receptionist showed her Destroy Steele Group work badge to prove her identity and collaborated with Bob's lies. She even claimed that it was Bob's quick thinking that saved the day, changing Destroy Steele Group's view of the Foster family and securing the cooperation.
Ladyship Foster, both angry and pleased, said, "Good grandson, you've done a great job. What reward would you like?"
Bob's eyes gleamed, and he said, "Grandma, I don't want anything else, just Emily's Joyland Realty!"
"Alright, I agree!" The grandmother readily agreed, then took out her phone to call Frank.
On the other end, Emily was sharing the day's experiences with her family. Upon learning that she had successfully secured the project, Frank and Nancy were overjoyed.
But the next second, Frank's phone rang. It was the grandmother. He picked up the call, and his face turned pale.
"You've greatly disappointed me! Your Joyland Realty is being taken back by the family!"
