All his henchmen were already on the ground, bleeding from their mouths.
"Who are you?" Scar quickly retreated, pulling out a knife to try and take Emily hostage. But before he could touch her, a sharp pain shot through his stomach, and he flew backward.
"How dare you hurt my woman? You're asking for death!" Jack's cold voice echoed as he stepped on Scar's head.
He hadn't expected such lawlessness in a small city like Wyndcrest. Luckily, he was here. Otherwise, Emily's fate would have been unimaginable.
"You dare hit me! Do you know who I am?" Scar roared in anger.
Jack didn't respond, only increasing the pressure under his foot. Scar held out at first, but as the force increased, he couldn't help but scream in pain.
"Stop! Stop! My head's going to split!" He pounded on Jack's foot, begging for mercy. A flash of ruthlessness crossed Jack's eyes, but he finally lifted his foot. If Emily and Cindy weren't present, he would have crushed Scar's head. Anyone who dared harm his family deserved to die a thousand times.
"Get lost!" Jack kicked Scar in the chest and turned to Emily. "Emily, are you alright?"
"I'm fine. Let's go quickly," Emily said, still tense, pulling Jack away.
Emily wasn't surprised by Jack's exceptional combat skills. However, solving problems often required more than just fighting. Scar's audacity suggested he had backing. If they didn't leave now, they might not get another chance.
As Jack, Emily, and Cindy walked away, Scar scrambled to his feet and started kicking his fallen henchmen. "You worthless scum! You're all tough when eating, drinking, and playing, but you act dead when it matters! You couldn't even handle one guy and got me beaten up! What use are you?!"
One henchman, clutching his head, whimpered, "Boss Scar, it's not our fault. That guy was too strong. We didn't even react before we were all down!"
"Bullshit!" Scarface kicked him again. "He's just one guy. Can he take on fifty? Follow them. The rest of you, come with me to get reinforcements. I'm going to smash that guy's head in!"
Jack and his group didn't know Scar was planning to gather more men to cause trouble.
Jack checked the time; it was already 2:30 PM. He took Emily's phone from the bag. "Emily, you missed some calls earlier. I didn't answer them." He handed her the phone.
Emily glanced at it and frowned slightly. "Why did Uncle Hanks and my dad call me so many times? What's going on?"
"It's probably about the contract signing," Jack said with a faint smile.
Emily rolled her eyes and called back. "Dad, what's up?"
"Where are you? Do you know we've been looking everywhere for you?" Frank's voice was anxious.
Emily was puzzled. "I'm at the amusement park with Jack. What's the matter?"
"Of course it's important! Where are you exactly? I'll have Bob pick you up to sign the contract with the Destroy Steele Group," Frank said urgently.
"Sign the contract? I thought Bob was handling that?" Emily asked, a bit annoyed.
"There's no time to explain. Just go sign it, or there'll be big trouble!" Frank was sweating with anxiety.
Emily didn't know what was happening but sensed it was serious. Just as she was about to agree, Jack grabbed her phone. "Uncle, Emily won't sign the contract unless you return what belongs to her. Tell them that without integrity, there's no deal!" Jack hung up.
"Jack, what are you doing? My dad is really worried!" Emily tried to get her phone back. Jack pulled her close and silenced her with a kiss. After a long moment, he released her and looked into her eyes. "Emily, do you trust me?"
"I... What else can I do but trust you?" Emily said, blushing and glaring at him, unable to argue.
Meanwhile, at the Foster villa, the atmosphere was tense. Frank and Nancy sat on the couch, with Hanks and Bob nearby. Even Ladyship Foster was present, leaning on her cane with a grim expression.
"Grandma, that Jack wants to ruin our family. He's a real menace!" Bob was stomping his feet in frustration, unable to understand how things had escalated. Nancy, however, smiled slightly, satisfied with Jack's phone call earlier. They weren't so easy to push around.
Then, Ladyship Foster spoke, "Enough. This isn't the time to worry about Jack. He said if we wanted Emily to sign the contract, we had to return what belonged to her. So, give back Joyland Realty!"
"What? No way!" Bob shouted in panic. Joyland Realty, the company directly interfacing with the Destroy Steele Group, was set to become the best part of the Foster family's business. Giving it to Emily would mean a huge loss for him!
"Do you have another solution? Can you sign the contract?" Ladyship Foster's eyes glared, her cane tapping the floor. Bob immediately slumped, unable to argue.
With Ladyship Foster's approval, Frank called his daughter to explain. But Jack answered again, "Just returning Joyland Realty isn't enough. Ladyship Foster must apologize to Emily and punish Bob, or there's no deal."
"What? Apologize to Emily?!" Ladyship Foster, listening in, nearly fainted from anger. She glared, gasping, "This is absurd! Jack, who do you think you are? Does my granddaughter deserve an apology from me? Let me speak to Emily!"
"No," Jack replied coldly. "I'm her husband. I speak for her. If you won't apologize, let whoever was supposed to sign the contract go ahead. We're going back to our day out." With that, Jack prepared to hang up.
"Wait!" Ladyship Foster roared, her veins bulging. She gritted her teeth and said slowly, "Fine. Let Emily take the call. I... will apologize."
