Chapter 31

"Director Drew?!" Secretary Zeke was startled and quickly helped Alan, who was lying on the ground. Alan looked up and saw his secretary, immediately guessing that it was probably this guy's trouble that got him into this mess. Alan was furious and slapped Zeke, shouting, "Zeke, if you want to die, don't drag me down with you!" Zeke, covering his face, was at a loss. He glanced at Jack who remained silent, and felt deep regret. He hadn't expected this guy to call his director here and in such a humiliating manner. Who on earth was this guy? "Mr. Steele, I've brought the person you requested," Drake said softly as he walked up to Jack. Jack nodded silently, glancing at Alan. Alan kicked Zeke aside and quickly approached Jack, speaking with utmost respect, "Sir, I am Alan Drew, Director of the Wyndcrest Education Bureau. If you have any instructions, please let me know, and I will handle the trouble you encountered properly." Jack briefly explained what had happened. Zeke, standing nearby, was drenched in sweat, and the woman beside him was trembling, unable to say a word. After listening to Jack's account, Alan's face darkened with anger. He turned and slapped Zeke again, furiously shouting, "Zeke, how dare you! You are merely an office secretary. Who gave you the authority to deprive others of their right to education?" Zeke's face turned pale and he was unable to utter a word. "Apologize to this gentleman immediately!" Alan kicked him. Zeke hurried to Jack and bowed, saying, "Sir, I shouldn't have insulted you and your sister. I shouldn't have exercised authority that wasn't mine. I apologize, and I beg for your forgiveness." Jack looked at the secretary expressionlessly and said, "It's not negotiable. Alan, you must punish him according to the Education Bureau's rules!" He then left, holding Cindy's hand. Zeke collapsed to the ground, his face filled with despair. At the entrance of Wyndcrest Private School, Jack met the tutor arranged by the admissions teacher. She was a pretty girl with dimples that appeared when she smiled, looking very cheerful. "Hello, are you Mr. Steele?" the girl approached and asked, "I'm the tutor the admissions teacher mentioned. My name is Tina Trump." Jack nodded, briefly introduced himself and Cindy, and then explained Cindy's situation. Tina, after listening, seemed a bit hesitant. Jack wanted her to complete the whole elementary school curriculum within one year, which was quite a demanding task. It wasn't that she couldn't do it, but she was worried about the child's ability to handle it. Elementary school courses might be simple for adults, but they could be challenging for children who were just starting to learn. At this moment, Cindy sensibly said, "It's okay, Mrs. Trump. I will study hard and won't let you and my brother down!" Seeing the determination in the girl's eyes, Tina agreed to Jack's request. When discussing the tutoring fee, Tina said, "Mr. Steele, this teaching task is also a challenge for me. I can't guarantee that I can teach Cindy all the knowledge within a year, but I will do my best. You can pay me after she passes the junior high school entrance exam in a year." "Deal!" Jack readily agreed, feeling very satisfied with Tina. After everything was arranged, Drake took Cindy home, while Jack and Tina went to buy the necessary textbooks. As they were walking, they encountered Zeke and his sister. "Stop right there!" Jack hadn't intended to pay them any attention, but Zeke shouted, "You ruined my future, and this matter isn't over!" Zeke's eyes were red with anger, and he gritted his teeth as he spoke. Jack smirked, "You ruined it yourself." "Shut up!" Zeke shouted furiously, "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have offended Director Drew. I don't care what kind of background or connections you have, you ruined me, and I'm going to drag you down with me!" Zeke immediately took out his phone and started calling people. His sister kept begging him to stop causing trouble, but Zeke wouldn't listen. Today, he had not only been beaten badly but had also suddenly lost all the privileges he had grown accustomed to. He couldn't accept this reality! Soon, seven or eight vans arrived, and a group of thugs in leather jackets got out. "Zeke, is this the guy?" asked a fierce-looking man covered in mysterious tattoos. Zeke nodded, his eyes filled with venom, "Mr. Done, please have your men chop off this guy's hands!" "No problem!" Done laughed wickedly, waving his hand, and a group of thugs charged at Jack, yelling. "Bang! Bang! Bang!" The sounds of intense blows filled the air. Jack didn't even use a tenth of his strength to deal with these thugs; they were all sent flying, spitting blood. Done was stunned. He had been charging with a knife but stopped dead in his tracks when he saw what was happening. "What's going on here?" Done stammered in fear. Zeke's eyes were wide with shock, thinking he must be hallucinating. At that moment, an annoyed voice came from behind Done, "Done, what's taking you so long? Hurry up and finish, we have other things to do." "Right, my boss is here!" Hearing the voice, Done regained his confidence. He shouted, "Boss, come here, there's someone really tough to deal with." "Who...?" With that familiar voice, another familiar face appeared in front of Jack—it was Scar from the bar last night! Scar saw Jack, and the relaxed, arrogant expression on his face instantly vanished, replaced by sheer terror. "Boss, it's this guy," Done said, pointing at Jack, not noticing Scar's expression. The next second, Scar rushed forward and slapped Done across the face, then started beating him up furiously. "You i***t! How dare you provoke such a dangerous man! Are you trying to get us killed? Damn you! If you want to die, don't drag me into it, you moron!"
