Emily coldly replied, "Let go of me. I don't have that kind of money to help you!" She knew that their bill had probably been covered by Drake, as a favor to Jack. But Drake had no reason to extend that favor to Bob. Despite Bob's multiple attempts to harm her, she felt a twinge of pity. They were family, after all.
Seeing Emily's hesitation, Jack shook his head with a smile. He had no intention of paying for this scumbag. He kicked Bob's hands off Emily's legs and walked out of the restaurant with her.
Bob lay on the floor, wailing pitifully. He tried to chase after them but was stopped by security guards at the door. "Sir, you cannot leave until you've paid your bill!" The guards surrounded him firmly.
'You could run, but this wasn't over. I would make Emily pay for this!' Bob seethed internally. He sneered at the guards, "Do you know who I am? I'm from the Foster family in Wyndcrest. Let me go!" He then attempted to push the security guards aside to force his way out.
The guards were unimpressed, kicking Bob back into the restaurant.
Meanwhile, Jack and Emily walked downstairs, passing many people still excitedly discussing the breathtaking display.
Emily didn't question whether Jack had sought Drake's help for the show because she already felt secure in Jack's love. When Jack dropped her off at home, they found Nancy waiting at the door.
"Hmph, just as well. If you dared to take my daughter to a hotel, I'd have dealt with you myself!" Mrs. Foster scolded.
Emily, too tired to argue, said goodbye to Jack and hurried inside.

The next morning, Jack headed to Dragon Crest. It was the day for Cindy's follow-up exam. Since leaving the Shaw family, Cindy's condition had improved significantly, much to Jack's relief.
At the hospital, the check-ups went smoothly. Cindy's physical and mental health showed great improvement. Jack felt a huge weight lift off his shoulders. He had worried that Cindy's traumatic experiences with the Shaw family would leave lasting scars that would hinder her recovery.
"Cindy, wait here for a moment," Jack said, patting her head. He needed to discuss the next steps with the doctor.
Cindy nodded obediently, sitting on a bench and studying her textbooks. According to Tina, Cindy had been diligent in catching up on her studies, rarely putting her books down except to eat or sleep.
Inside the office, the doctor explained some precautions, and then let Jack go. When Jack returned to the corridor, Cindy was gone, her textbooks scattered on the floor.
"Excuse me, did you see a girl sitting here reading?" Jack asked a nearby patient, his heart pounding.
The patient raised his eyebrows sightly and pointed upstairs with three fingers. "Third floor, Room 3021."
"Thank you," Jack said, rushing to the third floor. The intensive care unit was at the end of the hallway, guarded by two bodyguards.
Jack approached quickly.
"Stop! No entry!" The guards, seeing Jack's determined approach, moved instantly to block him.
With two swift punches, Jack knocked them out and kicked the door open. The sight inside filled him with rage.
Cindy was on the floor, crying helplessly, while Chloe stood over her, stomping on her hand. "You little brat, I'll crush your hand! Let's see if you dare to touch my stuff again!" Chloe snarled.
"Please, I wasn't stealing. I found it and was going to return it to you." Cindy cried out, but Chloe continued to stomp harder.
"Stop!" Jack's roar filled the room, and Chloe instinctively stepped back, fear etched on her face. Recognizing Jack, she stammered, "Jack...Jack Steele?!" The memories of the KTV incident, where she witnessed Walter being torn apart by Simon, had haunted her, leading to her current stay in the hospital for psychological treatment.
During her hospital stay, it was discovered she was pregnant. The father wasn't Simon, who had never touched her, nor could she be sure if it was Walter's child. The key was to keep it hidden.
Embarrassingly, while heading to the garden, a pregnancy test kit fell from her pocket. Cindy, sitting on a bench, picked it up, oblivious to its nature, and tried to return it. This resulted in a scene where patients and visitors helped find Chloe, making her pregnancy known to many.
Furious, Chloe ordered Cindy dragged into the room for a lesson. Little did she know, she'd encounter Jack. Chloe hadn't pieced together Cindy's relation to Jack before she found herself slapped to the ground.
"Cindy, are you alright?" Jack rushed to the girl, pulling her into his embrace.
"Brother, I..." Cindy, disheveled and tear-streaked, clung to Jack, her hand bleeding from Chloe's stomp.
Rage surged within Jack as he stared icily at Chloe. Terrified, she babbled, "Jack, don't do anything rash. We're in a hospital! I didn't know she was your sister. She embarrassed me publicly so she deserved it!"
"Deserved it?" Jack's voice was dangerously low. He stepped forward, his hand tightening around Chloe's neck.
Panicked, Chloe gasped with pale face, "Jack, I'm carrying the child of Carry Shaw, the Shaw family heir! If you kill me, he won't let you off!" In this life-and-death moment, Chloe suddenly remembered that during her affair with Walter, she had also had a one-night stand with another man, who just happened to be Carry Shaw from the Shaw family.
The person had a high status and naturally wouldn't continue the relationship with her. However, he had once mentioned that if she became pregnant with his child, she could come to him. Now, although she wasn't sure if the child was indeed his, she had to say this to save her life.
"Carry Shaw, huh?" Jack's mouth curled into a cold smile as he loosened his grip.
Chloe collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air. Once she caught her breath, she glared at Jack with fury. "Steele, you wait! I'm calling Mr. Shaw right now!"
Jack remained silent, merely watching Chloe's every move. Today was the day to settle old scores.
Chloe quickly dialed Carry's number, sobbing as she spoke into the phone before hanging up. She then contacted her family, and the fear on her face began to fade. With the combined forces of the Shaw and Carter families backing her, she was confident Jack wouldn't dare harm her.
Half an hour later, the Carter family arrived.
"What's going on here, Jack?" Lily was shocked to see the man she admired threatening her family.
"This doesn't concern you, Lily. Stay out of it," Jack replied coldly.
Lily held her breath and felt a pang of sadness. Chloe, seeing the Carter family, felt emboldened. Seeing her family arrive, Chloe's confidence returned. She pointed at Jack and shouted, "Lily, your classmate is asking for it. Don't plead for him later. Does he think hiring some soldiers to put on a show makes him a Five-Star General?"
Before she finished speaking, a group of Carter family members rushed into the room.
"Chloe, are you okay?" Lily's parents immediately shielded their daughter. But upon recognizing Jack, their expressions changed.
That night, Jack's performance left a deep impression. Despite rumors that those soldiers were hired by Jack, the sheer number of soldiers and armored vehicles made it clear he had connections. Ordinary people couldn't just hire that many soldiers for a show.
"Sir, what did my daughter do to anger you? If there's a way to make amends, please let us know," Elvin Carter said gravely.
Though the Carter family's status had risen, they hadn't become arrogant. They knew their rise was due to the fall of the Steele family, not their strength. Offending a powerful individual could easily lead to their downfall.
"You want to make amends? Fine. Cut off Chloe's foot and have her apologize to my sister," Jack's voice was icy.
"What the hell? I just stepped on that little b***h a couple of times, and you want to cut off my foot? Do you think I'm really afraid of you?" Chloe shouted angrily. With her family present and Mr. Shaw on the way, she couldn't believe Jack would harm her.
Smack! A gust of wind swept through the room. The next moment, Chloe felt a sharp pain as a heavy slap landed on her face, nearly knocking her over.
