Chapter 46

959 Words
Several thugs hadn't even reached Jack when Simon stepped forward to confront them. In such a confined space, the long knives were cumbersome. As expected, before the thugs could swing their blades, Simon had already disarmed and knocked them down, the knives falling into his hands. Simon wielded the long knife at Carry, creating a blur of white flashes. Carry's smug smile froze on his face as his clothes were shredded by Simon's expert blade work, though his body remained unscathed. The Carter family members were stunned. They had expected Carry to easily take care of Jack, but they hadn't anticipated Simon being so formidable, effortlessly dealing with Carry's men. "Don't do anything rash!" Carry warned, eyes fixed on Simon, afraid the blade might harm him. "I know some powerful figures in the underworld. If you hurt me, they won't let you off!" "Powerful figures?" Jack raised an eyebrow. "Who are you talking about?" "Ever heard of Sir Leo in the underworld?" Shaw's face lit up with confidence. Sir Leo was a notorious figure in Wyndcrest's criminal underworld. Compared to him, Scar's gang of a hundred men was nothing. "Sir Leo? Never heard of him," Jack replied coolly. "What? You don't even respect Sir Leo? Jack, you're dead!" Shaw sneered. "Then call Sir Leo. I'd love to see if he can save you!" Jack tossed Carry a phone, his expression calm. Carry was stunned by Jack's audacity. Did he think that just Simon Cooper could handle everything? "You asked for this!" Carry sneered, dialing a number. The Carters shook their heads, convinced Jack was doomed. Sir Leo's reputation was well-known. He had unified all the gangs in the southern district, becoming the undisputed "Boss of Southside." In Wyndcrest, the only one who could compare to Sir Leo was Sir Stone known as the "Boss of Northside." However, it was rumored that Sir Leo had retired and had not been involved in the underworld for many years. Sir Leo hadn't fully retired; ordinary families simply couldn't engage his services. Only prominent families like the Shaw family had the connections to reach him. Regardless, Jack had dared to provoke Sir Leo, and the outcome would undoubtedly be death. "Jack, you need to leave now, or you'll be in danger!" Lily urged. Jack was touched. Even in this situation, Lily was concerned for his safety. He wasn't blind to her feelings, but his heart had no room for another woman. He had deliberately distanced himself from her, hoping she would move on. But he hadn't anticipated her persistence. Before Jack could respond, the Carter family began to scold her. "Lily, stop talking to him. Jack is doomed tonight. Helping him will only bring ruin to our family!" "Yeah, Lily, stop being foolish. Come over here!" "Lily, don't be shameless. This man has a wife. Do you want to be a disgraceful mistress?" Faced with her family's accusations, Lily was at a loss. Jack spoke coldly, "My affairs are none of your concern. You should stick with your family." His icy words cut like a knife. Lily felt heartbroken. Her family's scorn and the man she liked treating her so coldly made her burst into tears. At that moment, steady footsteps echoed down the hallway. An elderly man in a suit, supported by two younger men, slowly entered. "Sir Leo!" Carry greeted him excitedly, surprised by how quickly he had arrived. The Carter family looked on in awe, hardly believing that this elderly man ruled the entire southern district's underworld. "Mr. Shaw, I was nearby on business and heard you were in trouble. Thought I'd come and see," Sir Leo's voice was deep and gravelly. Carry pointed at Jack, snarling, "Sir Leo, this bastard disrespected you, saying even you are no match for him and that you should lick his shoes!" "What?" Sir Leo's eyes flashed with anger as he glared at Jack. "You're young, but your arrogance is astounding. I'd like to see how you make me lick…" Before he could finish, Simon moved like lightning, appearing in front of him. Sir Leo's two bodyguards, both skilled fighters, instinctively tried to intercept but were too slow. "Bang, bang!" Two swift kicks sent them flying. Simon then struck Sir Leo's shoulder with a powerful palm. Sir Leo's knees buckled, his legs breaking with a loud crack as he fell to the ground. "Ahhh!!" Sir Leo screamed, his face pale. Simon followed with a slap that shattered Sir Leo's teeth, blood streaming from his mouth. Everyone in the room was stunned. They couldn't believe Jack's audacity. How could he dare to attack Sir Leo? Did he not understand the immense power behind the title "Boss of Southside"? This time, Sir Leo had underestimated his opponent and only brought two men. If he managed to leave alive, Jack would face relentless vengeance from every gang in the southern district. Everyone associated with Jack, regardless of age or gender, would be hunted down. "You're dead!" Sir Leo, enduring the pain, looked up at Jack with bloodshot eyes. Since announcing his retirement, he hadn't felt such a strong urge to kill someone. If Jack didn't kill him today, he had countless ways to make Jack and everyone around him suffer unimaginable horrors! After a brief shock, Carry sneered. Jack was doomed. He had planned to provoke Sir Leo into dealing with Jack, but Jack had sealed his fate by attacking Sir Leo. Jack walked over to Sir Leo, looking down at him with a smile. "Boss of Southside?" "You know who I am, yet you dare treat me like this. You…" Sir Leo's words were cut off as Jack's foot struck him hard. "Pfft!" Sir Leo's face turned pale as he spat out a mouthful of blood.
