Chapter 60

Outside the door, Jack kicked a bodyguard, sending him crashing through the wooden door. As Jack slowly walked into the room, he found it empty. "Have they escaped?" Jack frowned, his gaze falling on a disguised door in the corner of the room. He quickly approached it and discovered an operational elevator behind it. Henry and the others must have heard the commotion outside and fled through this escape route. "How cunning. I'll enjoy this little game of cat and mouse. Let's see where you think you can hide," Jack said coldly. Just then, his phone rang. Seeing it was Emily's call, Jack answered immediately, "Emily, what's up?" "Jack, do you have time tonight?" Emily asked softly. "My mom has been invited by a friend to an auction. She wants me to go on a blind date with her friend's son. Can you come and keep me company?" Jack smiled wryly and said, "No problem. Send me the address, and I'll be there on time." "Great, see you tonight!" Emily said cheerfully. At the Foster family villa, after hanging up, Nancy entered the room. "Emily, did you call that disaster again?" "Is there a problem with that?" Emily asked, unhappy. "I told you not to contact him anymore! Why don't you listen to me?" Nancy was exasperated. "The young man I'm introducing to you tonight is a big boss from Wyndcrest. He's a perfect match for you. That poor guy Jack should stay away!" "Mom, my company turning a profit is all thanks to Jack's help. I won't allow you to speak about him like that," Emily said, visibly angry. "Nonsense!" Nancy's eyes widened in anger. "The turnaround of your company is nothing but luck! It has nothing to do with Jack. He's just a nobody without a job, unworthy of you!" Hearing this, Emily felt helpless. Nancy's prejudice against Jack was too ingrained to change. Emily, not wanting to hear any more negative talk about Jack, used the excuse of changing clothes to send Nancy out of the room. At eight in the evening, outside the auction house, Emily stood quietly in a high-end, beautiful dress, her angelic face and devilish figure attracting continuous glances from passersby. Nancy stood proudly beside her, enjoying the attention her daughter was getting, believing that appreciation would lead to a higher "price" for her "product." At that moment, a luxury sports car worth millions of dollars pulled up in front of Emily. A pair of mother and son emerged from it—the woman was Nancy's close friend, and her son was the one Emily was supposed to go on a blind date with tonight. "Hello, Miss Foster. I'm Doan Trump. Nice to meet you." Doan greeted with a gentlemanly demeanor in a black suit. Emily, however, was not interested in engaging with him and reluctantly shook his hand. "Miss Foster, you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. If possible, I would like to hold your hand and spend the rest of my life with you." Doan expressed his admiration with intense sincerity. Nancy and her friend both smiled, clearly pleased with the situation. However, Emily frowned and said, "Sorry, I already have a boyfriend. He'll be here soon, so please don't say such things." "What?" Doan's expression froze, surprised by the straightforward rejection of his heartfelt confession. "Emily, what are you saying now?" Nancy scolded, then turned to Doan with a smile. "Doan, I'm very satisfied with you. The boyfriend Emily mentioned is someone I would never approve of! Let's go to the auction, and you can chat more with Emily." "That's great." Doan nodded, smiling widely. "Go on inside, I need to wait for someone," Emily said, her displeasure evident. "Enough!" Nancy was also angry. She lowered her voice and said, "If Jack dares to come tonight, I'll make sure to break his legs! A worthless toad trying to marry a swan!" Hearing this, Emily was about to argue when suddenly a commotion arose from the crowd. "Wow, is that the limited edition Lincoln Emperor?" "Yes, yes, there are only three in the world. I can't believe we're seeing one here!" "I'm going crazy. Someone pinch me to make sure I'm not dreaming!" The excitement of the crowd caught the attention of Emily and others. A Lincoln stretch limousine slowly drove up from the distance. The original emblem on the car had been replaced by a crown, marking it as this year's newest Lincoln Emperor, reportedly available in only three units worldwide! "Who is that car? They must be incredibly wealthy!" Nancy's eyes sparkled. She had heard that the Lincoln Emperor cost over ten million, with top-notch features and decorations. The million-dollar sports car Doan drove was nothing compared to this one. Whoever owned this car was definitely a young master from a super-rich family! Nancy licked her dry lips, suddenly thinking that her daughter might be better suited for the owner of this car! At that moment, the Lincoln Emperor came to a stop right in front of them. Nancy, feeling her body stiffen and her breathing become rapid, urgently whispered to Emily, "Emily, go and greet them quickly." "What did you say?" Emily was stunned. "Go and greet them! Don't just stand there. If you miss this chance, it will be too late!" Nancy urged, frustrated. Just as she finished speaking, a well-dressed woman with an impressive figure walked directly toward the Lincoln Emperor. She bent down, exposing her ample cleavage, and gently tapped on the car window. "Oh no, someone beat us to it!" Nancy stomped her feet in frustration. Unexpectedly, the car door of the Lincoln Emperor opened abruptly. Several bodyguards in black stepped out and pushed the woman away. "You're trying to seduce someone here? The person in this car is not someone you can approach! f**k off!" The bodyguards' cold and intimidating demeanor sent a chill through the crowd. Then, a man in a suit emerged from the passenger seat. Under the curious gazes of the guests, he walked slowly to Emily and bowed, saying, "Miss Foster, Mr. Steele requests your presence in the car." Everyone present was astonished and dumbfounded by the scene.
