Bocoy was so terrified that he lost control of his bladder and bowels, a foul stench filling the room. In anger, Billy kicked him a couple more times.
Ray also kicked Bocoy aside, then walked over to Emily and Jack, holding his wine glass with a fawning expression.
"Ja..." He initially wanted to toast Jack but quickly changed his words when he saw Jack's subtle signal. "Ahem, Miss Foster, my men were disrespectful to you. I apologize on their behalf!" With that, Ray downed his glass of wine.
The men he had brought with him followed suit, drinking in unison and loudly saying, "Please forgive us, Miss Foster. Don't lower yourself to our level!"
Ray then loudly announced, "Sorry for disturbing your meal, Miss Foster! We'll leave now!" The group quickly exited, leaving behind a room full of stunned relatives.
Especially Bocoy and Yuri, who were still shaken by Ray's menacing gaze and didn't even have the courage to speak.
"E... Emily, what's your relationship with Boss Ray?" Gabord asked, swallowing hard, his eyes wide with shock.
Emily glanced at Bocoy, who was still lying on the ground, and calmly said, "We're colleagues." With that, she hooked her arm around Jack's and left the private room.
The relatives immediately swarmed Nancy, bombarding her with questions. Nancy, who hadn't been the center of attention in a long time, basked in the moment, completely forgetting that she had just kicked Jack out.
Meanwhile, Jack and Emily had just stepped outside when they saw Ray waiting for them.
"Mr. Steele, did I handle that situation well?" Ray asked with a fawning smile.
"Not bad." Jack nodded.
Ray grinned widely at the praise, then gave Jack a knowing wink, signaling that he had something more to discuss.
Understanding the cue, Jack first escorted Emily back home. Afterward, he got into a car in front of the Foster family's villa, where Ray was waiting for him inside.
"What's the matter?" Jack asked.
"Mr. Steele, you killed the Boss of Southside, didn't you?" Ray asked, trembling with fear. He had known his old rival was dead but didn't know how it happened. Only recently had he gotten intel that it was Jack who had killed him.
"That's right. Is there a problem?" Jack responded bluntly.
"Absolutely not!" Ray hurriedly waved his hands. "I don't want to end up like that guy. He loved killing and was destined to die a miserable death!"
"Get to the point!" Jack's tone grew impatient.
Ray was startled and quickly explained, "With him dead, many gangs there are now fighting for dominance. The situation is chaotic, and the city lord is displeased with the disorder. So he's brought out some old-timers who had retired long ago to stabilize the situation."
"Old-timers?" Jack raised an eyebrow, showing some interest.
"Some of them were his friends. They're planning to avenge him," Ray added.
"I see." Jack sneered.
"But it seems that the Shaw family is backing them," Ray continued, then fell silent.
If it were just a gang fight, Ray, Boss of Northside, would be powerful. But with the support of a powerful family, he knew he couldn't handle it alone.
"It's fine. Stay out of it. Let them come to me." Jack said as he stood up, patted Ray on the shoulder, and left without another word.
At the same time, a group from the Shaw family was having a gathering with Jerry and some others, including several elderly men with snow-white hair.
Jerry, holding a wine glass, beamed with pride and said, "It's our honor to have the assistance of Martial Master and The Fallen Devil! With their help, that brat Jack is as good as dead!"
The group erupted in applause, though the young members of the Shaw family sneered.
"Mr. Steele, you should know that these two seniors are helping because of our Shaw family. It has nothing to do with you," Lisa said, her legs crossed, with a look of utter disdain.
Jerry's expression turned awkward. "Miss Shaw is right. I apologize."
A young man beside her arrogantly added, "Alright, the Steele family is just a subordinate of the Shaw family now. Don't speak without our permission in the future."
Hearing this, Jerry's expression darkened. Although the Steele family had never been as powerful as the Shaw family, they were never this submissive. All of this was Jack's fault.
Once they got rid of Jack, they could tolerate being the Shaw family's subordinate for a while.
But once Jack was dead, the Shaw family's usefulness would also end. 'By then, who would be the real subordinate?' Jerry thought, his face twisted in anger.
"Jack's current backer is the Boss of Northside. Martial Master, Fallen Devil, which of you would like to handle this threat?" the young man continued.
An elderly man with a beard replied, "This time, let me take care of it. Fallen Devil, just wait for my good news." With that, he left the room.
At that moment, Jack had just returned to the entrance of the Eastwoods Hotel, where Bocoy and his group were just leaving.
Yuri, lost in her thoughts, didn't notice anyone in front of her and bumped into someone. She angrily looked up to curse, "Are you blind?" But when she saw it was Jack, she sneered. "So it's you, the r****t!"
Her mind was filled with rage at being overshadowed by Emily, so she was particularly displeased with Jack.
It seemed to her that the Boss of Northside had only spoken with Emily, which meant Jack was still the useless trash he'd always been; only Emily made him look good.
With her arms crossed, Yuri arrogantly looked down at Jack. "Jack, if you kneel down and lick my shoes, I might forgive you for bumping into me!"
