Chapter 82

843 Words
The couple was stunned when they saw Leopard go flying. They knew Leopard was very powerful — a former top-ten-ranked killer skilled in combat, one of the best bodyguards the family had ever hired. Yet, he couldn't even withstand a single punch from this bumpkin?! 'Who on earth is this bumpkin? He's incredible!' "I'm here to visit. I don't want to kill anyone. Don't force my hand," Jack said calmly. "Hmph, you think you can kill us?" The man was shaken by Jack's strength but sneered when he heard this. "Do you know who we are? If you dare kill us, the entire Wyndcrest will suffer my family's wrath! Because my name is Mick Lima!" His face was full of arrogance. At this moment, his sister strutted over with her head held high and said proudly, "Bumpkin, why don't you bow when you hear our name? How dare you!" Jack frowned, anger rising within him. 'These two are too arrogant. It's the first time I've heard of anyone bowing just because they hear a surname! However, judging from their tone, they should be from West State.' "Well, you bumpkin. I don't think you understand what our surname means. We might forgive you if you kneel down and lick our shoes while apologizing," Mick said arrogantly. Jack couldn't stand the man anymore and slapped him. "Are you crazy? Our surname is Lima!" the sister screamed in horror. Jack slapped her away without hesitation. Then, he walked to the door and gave the butler a cold look. The butler, terrified, turned and shouted for help, "Help! Someone is causing trouble. Guards, come here!" As the sound of hurried footsteps grew louder, a group of strong bodyguards ran out from the courtyard and surrounded Jack. "Hahaha, this fool dares to offend a noble family." Mick pointed at Jack and laughed wildly. "Do you think a noble family will be intimidated by a bumpkin like you? You don't understand the foundation and power of an ancient, well-established family at all! Even the Lord of Wyndcrest shows them respect. You're courting death, you i***t!" "Who is this tramp?" Just then, a casual voice floated out from the courtyard. A young man in slippers walked out lazily. "Young Master!" the bodyguards immediately greeted him. Mick and his sister quickly got up from the ground and ran to him, flattering, "Young Master Icarus, you're indeed as handsome as they say. I'm Mick from the Lima family in West State, and this is my sister, Merlin." "Nice to meet you, Young Master Icarus," Merlin said, feigning shyness. However, having just been slapped by Jack, her expression looked quite strange. Frowning, Young Master Icarus asked, "What's going on here? Who allowed you to make a scene in front of my house? How dare you?!" "Mr. Icarus, it's not our fault. It's that guy's..." Mick pointed at Jack and exaggerated what had just happened. Mr. Icarus turned to look at Jack and asked quietly, "Is this true?" But Jack stood with his hands behind his back, eyes closed, unwilling to explain. "Young Master, look at how arrogant this guy is! He doesn't even salute you! Such a rude bumpkin should be beaten to death and thrown into the woods to be fed to the wolves!" Merlin said resentfully. "I don't think it's good to be so cruel," he replied, frowning. "Why not? I don't think it's cruel at all," Mick grinned and sneered. "A bumpkin like him is uncivilized, barbaric, and unreasonable. Better to let the wild beasts eat him up. His family and friends are probably bumpkins like him. Bastards! These parasites wasting society's resources should be put to death!" Mick had been pampered since he was a child. It wasn't easy for him to leave West State, but now he had been beaten by a bumpkin in Wyndcrest. He felt utterly humiliated! Therefore, Jack must die. Anyone who knew about this had to be silenced! "I see." The young master nodded slightly. "Icarus Guards, listen up! Deal with them as Mr. Lima instructed." The young master waved his hand and gave the order. Mick had a proud look on his face, but in the next second, the guards of the Icarus family seized him and Merlin, tying them up. Mick was so terrified that his face turned pale. He shouted anxiously, "What's going on? Young Master, is there some mistake?" "There is no mistake." Mr. Icarus walked up to Jack and said with a smile, "You just said you would execute his friend as well. Unfortunately, I am his friend. Since you want to kill me, should I just stand still and let you do it? I must kill you first!" Hearing this, Mick and his sister were stunned. 'The young master of a reclusive family is actually a friend of this bumpkin. How is that possible?' But before they could ask, the guards had already escorted them deep into the woods. Mick and his sister were so anxious that they were on the verge of tears, repeatedly begging for mercy.
