Emily firmly refused her parents' demands and then left the house with Jack.
Soon after, the Foster family received the news.
"What? That b***h refused?" Bob's eyes widened in rage.
Ladyship Foster's face darkened as she cursed, "How dare she! Does she think she can go against the entire Foster family?"
"Grandma, she must be holding a grudge against you for kicking her out of the family back then, so she's doing this on purpose!" Bob said.
"Hmph, she's just someone who relies on the family's protection to survive. What right does she have to hold a grudge against me?" The more Ladyship Foster thought about it, the angrier she became. Finally, she turned to Bob. "Bob, find a way to teach that brat a lesson. Does she really think she's powerful now and can go against the family?"
"Yes, Grandma!" Bob laughed sinisterly and then left the old residence. Before the Foster family had fallen into decline, he was known as a notorious playboy. He was familiar with many of the gangs in both the southern and northern parts of the city.
The slum redevelopment project was in the northern part of the city, so he decided to contact some friends there. With that in mind, Bob pulled out his phone: "Hello, John? It's Bob. I need help. Do you have some time?"

The next morning, Emily woke up in the presidential suite of the Eastwoods Hotel. She hadn't gone home after the argument with her parents the previous night. After washing up, she found Jack already waiting for her downstairs.
They had a simple breakfast before heading to the slum construction site. As the project had just started, there were bound to be some issues on-site. As the project director, Emily had to be there to address any problems immediately.
"Miss Foster!" The site manager approached her as soon as she arrived. "Last night, after the construction work, some thugs tried to cause trouble. The protective net over there was damaged. If it hadn't been for Ray's men guarding the site, the damage could have been much worse."
Hearing this, Emily looked at Jack worriedly, but he reassured her and told the site manager, "Don't worry, Ray will ensure the site's security. If someone causes damage during this period, Ray's reputation as the Boss of Northside would be ruined. If that happens, Ray himself won't let those people off easily!"
"You're right. Reassure everyone and make sure the project continues without delays," Emily told the manager.
He nodded and then went to relay the message.
"Jack, who might damage the site last night?" Emily asked, puzzled.
"I don't know, but it doesn't matter. I won't let it happen," Jack said nonchalantly. However, he suspected that it was someone sent by Carry to cause trouble.
After he killed the Boss of Southside, the southern part of Wyndcrest had fallen into chaos, and Carry could only send a few small-time thugs to stir things up.
At that moment, Emily's phone rang. "Why is he calling?" Emily frowned when she saw that it was Bob. After listening for a moment, she hung up.
"What happened?" Jack asked with concern.
"It's infuriating!" Emily puffed up her cheeks in anger. "That Bob threatened me, saying that if I don't let him be the branch manager of the project, he would prevent the construction from proceeding smoothly!"
"Let's see what he could do," Jack said with a smile as he put his arm around Emily's shoulders.
Emily chuckled and nodded. "I'm not afraid of him either, so I hung up on him."
Meanwhile, on the other end, Bob was fuming with rage. "That b***h is really asking for trouble!" He then turned to the burly man next to him, who was drinking. "John, I'm counting on you for this!"
The burly man laughed heartily at Bob's words. "Don't worry, Bob. No one in the Northside dares to challenge me. If I want to shut down that construction site, no one will dare to touch a single brick!"
"Good, I'll go with you. I want to see that b***h crumble!" Bob sneered as he headed to the construction site with John.

At the slum construction site, Jack and Emily was overseeing the work at the construction site, when they suddenly heard a hearty laugh behind them. Ray had arrived with several of his subordinates.
"Why are you here?" Jack asked as he approached them.
"Mr. Steele, my men offended you and Miss Foster before, so I brought them here to work as an apology," Ray said with a smile, a safety helmet on his head. Beside him stood Sir Billy and a few other men, all bruised and battered. They all smiled sheepishly at Jack.
Jack understood that Ray was trying to show his sincerity. He accepted the apology and agreed that they could join in the construction work.
Ray, the man known as the "Boss of Northside" , led his group onto the messy construction site and started working.
"Bang!" Suddenly, a loud crash startled everyone on the site. The iron gate of the construction site was smashed open by a large truck, which then drove straight into the site.
A group of thugs armed with machetes jumped out of the truck. John, the leader, shouted at the construction workers, "Everyone stop working! If anyone dares to continue, I'll chop his f*****g hands off!"
The workers immediately froze, their faces pale with fear. Emily, also frightened, got close to Jack and grabbed onto his sleeve.
"Hahaha, Emily, you b***h, get over here!" Bob yelled as he stepped out of the truck's passenger seat, pointing at Emily in the crowd. "Damn it! I gave you a chance, but you didn't take it. Now, get on your knees, lick my shoes, and beg me. I might give you a chance to apologize!"
"Bob?!" Emily's face turned pale. She hadn't expected that the person causing trouble at her construction site would be her cousin.
But Bob wouldn't have the guts to do this on his own—someone must be backing him. The only person who could be behind this was Ladyship Foster. The thought that her elder was stooping to such low tactics made Emily tremble with anger.
"Emily, don't worry. I'll handle this," Jack reassured her before stepping forward.
"Oh, Jack, you useless piece of trash, you're here too?" Bob said, feigning surprise. "Perfect, I'll take care of both of you today. No need to look for you later! Boys, smash everything on the site!"
With a single command, the thugs eagerly began to destroy the machinery and construction equipment.
"s**t! Stop right there! Who the hell are you guys? How dare you come here to cause trouble? Do you wanna die?" Ray shouted furiously at John.
John didn't recognize the man with a safety helmet and cement dust on his face as the famous "Boss of Northside". He sneered and coldly replied, "Who the hell are you to ask about me? I'll scare you to death! I'm with Ray, the Boss of Northside!"
Hearing this, Ray and his men froze.
Then, Ray quickly took off his safety helmet, walked up to John, and slapped him hard across the face.
"You claim to be with me and can't even recognize me? Bullshit!"
